I have a new high spec Samsung laptop running Chrome and Edge. This problem happens on both.
When I try to open an email I just get the revolving circle. Switching to Yahoo's basic mail solves the problem, but I cannot get it to run consistently in the standard version.
Help would be appreciated.

If you're using an app, do emails open correctly if you log in via the above link?

Extensions are Control Panel for Twitter, Rapport (for Santander banking) McAfee and Quidco. None has caused problems before.

And the problem is back this morning. Grrrr.
I've tried the two sign-ins suggested above, but with no success I'm afraid. I fully expect it to be working fine later on today for no apparent reason! That's what happened before.
