WiFi dropping every few minute

I have recently had a new router and it is dropping the WiFi connection every two or 3 minutes. Mobiles and tablets are being drained of charge because they are constantly looking for the signal. Why is it so difficult to get an engineer visit?

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute

No advice, but we have same issue, commenting to add traction.

Phoned and "help is coming" been promised a new hub to try, or an engineer visit, but nothing appears or happens.

Speed test confirms wifi dropped off a cliff, to 7mb/s for example. We're paying for 900mb/s and have white Hub 6. It's not the service speed to the house, it's the hub crashing out All. The. Time.

Constant dropping in and out, light remains white but can be in the same room as hub and lose connection. Phones constantly 'hanging' on blank pages, time-out, 'no response' errors, while WiFi apparently boots up again. Tablets run down in 24 hours like you are saying. We thought Vodafone was bad, but Sky seems worse.

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We too have the white box which we were forced to have because of the phone lines going digital. We have a landline purely for an elderly family member who refuses to use a mobile. We're concerned that a vulnerable person might not be able to get in contact because the box is unreliable.

Perhaps someone from Sky who is monitoring these forums might like to get in touch to have a look at the situation.

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute

Hi there, I have same issue, however, I didn't change it my hub. I have it for 3rd year black broadband hub, but today it's the 3rd day in roll, between 6.00 and 7.00pm WiFi connection dropping off for about couple of minutes, but happen more than 5-6 times. I really don't know why is that as I haven't change anything, not the hub, not the place, not set up, nothing.

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute

I've recently joined, less than a week ago and I'm already having these issues. Worst part is my security systems relies on a good wifi service and this certainly isn't that.

the only help I'm being offered currently is a wifi check which says everything is ok? Is this a joke because it isn't. I've done independent speed checks and these vary from 0- 500/600 and I've got the 900 gigafast speed, allegedly!!!

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute

Well this is incredible. I had my new box installed today and I am too suffering this.

How do I contact SKY to report this? I found this area after going through loops of menus.

It's beyond annoying.

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute

It's a very clunky system . I've been in a chat since 5 and it's such a slow process I'm grinding my teeth in frustration

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute

I just did the panic thing, unplugged it, waited a minute and turned on again.

So far so good, but I will obviously be monitoring it.

🤞🤞

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute

Nothing concrete. All they confirmed was that there's nothing wrong with the line connection. They want to do more tests today. I rebooted the hub and it's been stable overnight. See how we both get on today. Keep in touch 👍

Re: WiFi dropping every few minute

Logged in today.

Same problem occurring, it's even dropping out now.

Managed to eventually speak to a person at SKY, did the usual checks, which are essentialy line checks, not inside the house issues.

A new hub is being sent (for what that's worth).  All the password and device chages to happen again. Grrr.

No mention or offer of a refund as the line is OK.

Watch this space.
