Either way it's still slow

Either way, slow is slow and sometimes you've to use your common sense, I don't control what their machines state, but sky do.. What it presents isn't impartial... If it Moos like a cow it's a cow.. And so slow is slow sky also struggles to carry large info over its wifi data etc

Cont....
Slow is slow and a fisherman never says his own fish stinks.. Sky needs to stop holding back

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Sajo222222 Please can you post your router stats so the forum can advise on any issues. This link explains how to do that https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband/How-to-find-your-Sky-Broadband-router-stats/td-p/2855717#
Are you doing the speed test over wifi?

Hi
I am also experiencing very slow Wi-Fi speeds since moving to FTTP and having a new sky router
i have included my router stats if helpful but would welcome any suggestions as effectively I am unable to use the broadband due to such poor connectivity.
Thanks in advance

I upgraded to Ultrafast about a year ago....everything was great - wifi broadband speeds were over 250mbs and ethernet connected spreeds were over 400mbs. Wind forward to now and my wifi speeds are anything between 7mbs and 30mbs but ethernet connected is over 400mbs.
I have tried restarting the router and changing channels, switching off devices and sometimes its get better but then goes back to the slow speeds on wifi.
The inetresting outcome in my case is that I bought a TP Link router for a home based project and connected it to the SKY router to share the internet connection. The wifi SSID's are different.
Even though both routers are within 3 feet of my lap top, the Sky router still gives the slow performance but the TP Link which now has all wifi connected devices connected to it (2 Alexa's, two Sky Q boxes, several laptops, several tablets and various mobiles) gives over 200mbs.
So based on my experience, the Sky router is not up to the job for handling wifi

Had to have an engineer out because my super fast broadband was up and down . He tested my line in my hoethen went to do a fix down the line outside . Called back in and said it was fixed .
I ran a test on my broadband through sky and it all came back fine instead of it saying there's a fault with my broadband it said all three tests were fine .
but when I try to connect to the wifi it's extreamly slow both wirelessly and Ethernet.
I ran a test online with these results
.

Sky just like to blind us with science as though our experience as consumers counts for nothing, the broadband is being restricted each time until we complain, even the buffering delaying of download upload it's just trash and fuelled by greed, they choker broadband then bring out one with a new name saying its faster then they after time will choke that.... Sky's promise its worth very little as are the empty useless gifts as a gold member etc.. Skychology being used upon us all

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreCan you please post a screenshot of an ethernet based speedtest? Note this should be directly from the router, not through a booster or something like a powerline adapter

This paragraph demonstrates that you have zero knowledge of how older style broadband & WiFi work in this country. Sky do not throttle connections, the connections become degraded due to the poor & ageing copper wiring still being used across the country. Openreach engineers are constantly chasing faults and repairing copper connections only for another one to go bad the next day.

If you are not a sky employee nor part of management i don't believe you're in the position to bark like that nor do you have access to such information...

Internet traffic increases by 30% year on year from the servers to the premises, congestion on servers and wireless congestion and interference as more individuals join the race for information, streaming TV services, gaming, etc...
But saying that Sky's wireless routers are poor wireless-wise with only 1 set of manual 5Ghz channels (36-44) 80Mhz wide when there are more 5Ghz wireless channels available, a 6Ghz wireless band as well that Ofcom cleared for wireless that Sky routers are unable to serve because it is outdated technology and poorly designed!

That's a great read thanks, makes sense... These people don't invest a penny more than they need to... Or can get away with.
