TP Link WiFi repeater not allowed internet access

Hi, I'm a new sky customer, and have only been connected for a few days. Main WiFi is up and running correctly, but durto the layout of my home we need to use a 3rd part (TP Link) WiFi repeater to send signal to some parts of our house. I've connected the repeater to the router, but the my hub 4.2 is not allowing it internet access. Does anyone have any experience of similar issues or is any5able to help?

@BenMD What Tp-Link are you using, throwing your post out without information is as good as a chocolate fireguard...

Have a look at this post linked for you.

Re: TP Link WiFi repeater not allowed internet access

Thanks for the passive aggressive response.

As I suspected, the specific model was not the source of the problem, but rather some standard config in the Sky Hub which doesn't play nicely with 3rd party hardware.

I was eventually able to speak to Sky tech support, who have booked an engineer to come and reconfigure for me because it seems I don't have the ability to do this as an end customer.

Regards,

Ben.

Re: TP Link WiFi repeater not allowed internet access

Cheers, I'd not mentioned, but try directly accessing at 192.168.0.1, but I found it just stuck cycling rather than actually letting me in. Not sure what was going on there either. 🤷‍♂️

I'll see what they actually do when the engineer is out

Re: TP Link WiFi repeater not allowed internet access

@BenMD Some browser's can be a bit temperamental at times try a http:// in front followed by your 192.168.0.1 see if that gets the web page open to the router. so without the single quotes 'https://192.168.0.1' sky changes the command so this is a way around displaying it.
