Scam phone call supposedly from Sky about slow internet speed

I had a call supposedly from Sky today saying my internet speed was slow.  Once they said that they can check my speed on my mobile phone, I said I was working and didn't have enough time to do that now (I already suspected was a scam).  

He then said in that case I would lose my internet within 2 hours and would have to go to their office in London to have it reconnected.  At that point I said I think this is a scam, where he started getting angry and swearing at me including calling me a b***h!  I then said this is definitely a scam as someone from Sky wouldn't be using swearing talking to a customer.  I then hung up. 

There wasn't a telephone number to block as it came up as a Private Caller.

Yes, a scam. Sky would never contact a customer to inform them their broadband speed was slow. You did the right thing.

just had  scam call suposed to be sky about my slow internet and possible loss as tech problems, I DON,T HAVE SKY INTERNET, very odd that isn,t it  he got quite angry i hung up

It's now January 2025, and they are still running with the the sky slow broadband scam, now they're are saying they are refunding customers due to the inconvenience.. I almost fell for it. But then I thought, although I've had a couple of small issues, on the whole I'm happy with my broadband speed. I told them this, I could hear the chap I was talking to was starting to panick and said he wanted me to talk to his supervisor. I refused saying I was too busy. I blocked the number but got yet another call today (8.30am on Saturday morning) on a different number..be very careful. They are very convincing. Tell them to call back later after you've called sky's official number to confirm the story. This is what I said today he said no no no, we're independent.. I mean, they said calling from sky to give me a refund from sky but they certainly are independent scammers!!!!

If you answer and the caller asks for your telephone password (which a genuine Sky agent should) give an INCORRECT one on purpose. If the caller doesn't challenge it then you know it'll be a scam caller.

I think I had this today.  He was quite agressive when I wouldnt do what he asked.  

He wanted me to download quick support to I assume take control of my mobile and give him remote access.  

The frustrating thing is, the number they use is my landline, the only people who have that number are sky as we don't use it and have never given it out. There must of been a data breach or something at somepoint?

i still getting them on my mobile, block number and they use another number i just see  it 0022 and just block
