Regular drop outs
‎16 Dec 2024 04:39 PM
For muliple devices, I'm getting regular drop outs, where I completely lose wifi connectivity for a minute or even more. I relatively recently moved to fibre and it does seem more noticeably regular since. It's the same router from before the change, which is the original skyq one. Tests via the mysky app doesn't flag anything and shows expected 400mb+, though at the moment even stood next to the router connecting via WiFi in only registering 30mb download speed using two different network diag android apps. Online games are fairly ok, but anything streaming, be it Netflix etc or taking such a Luna is really restricted. I feel I may as week go back to standard broadband as those things on a house of 5 should be available to me paying for 400mb plus. I've tried a dlink repeater but didn't make a difference. Don't know if the sky booster would be better, though can't find out how to get one. I'd try moving my router just as a test but the engineer moved it to be next to where the fibre comes in. Any hints, or how to engage with sky to get a fault raised which seems not to be readily available. Raised something a few weeks ago when first installed but that was mainly speed issue which had now worsened really to the disconnects
