Re: PPPOE codes for connection to third party router

Ok so Sky Hub is now connected, both wifi signals are turned off.

I have connected the first deco via ethernet and it has been found on the app.  The deco app is now presenting me which internet connection to choose;

Dynamic IP

PPPoE

Static IP

L2TP

PPTP

DS-Lite

Which one is the correct one, i presume static?????

Either static IP and place the WAN interface in the subnet 192.168.0.0/24 say an IP of 192.168.0.254 or you can use dynamic IP and that will work without setting anything up IP-wise automagically.

Ok so i have gone with dynamic.  Connected all 3 decos and now changed the operation mode to Access Point.

That should be fine and you should be fully in operation.

Re: PPPOE codes for connection to third party router

Hello all, I've been trying to access this forum for weeks to say a final thank you but my phone wasn't allowing access to any forums.  I'm now in incognito mode.

So, fibre has successfully been installed today and I am currently running my deco mesh in Access Point mode connected to the sky fibre hub.

I had a quick go to try and make the deco the Router but have fallen foul of the same issue with not knowing the details/settings/ports to enter to connect to sky's server or what have you.

I really want to do away with the sky hub.

These are the only routers that support DHCP Option 61 from the Netgear range, and yours unfortunately isn't on the list https://kb.netgear.com/000062426/Which-NETGEAR-routers-support-DHCP-option-60-and-61 You could try DHCPv6 PD but that only works on 80% of Sky broadband exchanges.

Re: PPPOE codes for connection to third party router

Hi i checked last night one my router settings i saw option 61 with a blank space to fill in

Re: PPPOE codes for connection to third party router

@Chawda

If it has option 61 then fill it in with 'anything@skydsl|anything' without the single quotes, and it should connect to Sky broadband without the requirement to use the Sky Hub.

Once you have filled it in turn off the router and ONT for 30 minutes and then switch on again and it should work okay.

Re: PPPOE codes for connection to third party router

@Chawda

Which DNS service are you using on the router, may be worth changing this if you're using the default provider provided one being Sky. Suggest 9.9.9.9 as quad is very reliable.
