Vertical Banding on Right Hand Side of 43 inch glass

Hi all,

I have very noticeable vertical banding on the screen of  my 43 inch small glass TV. This is visible during football matches, sweeping shots of play, most noticeable on right side with a noticeable variation in colour m, perhaps 5/6 lines of varying width. It is less visible on the left hand side, but there are a couple of bands visible of lesser size.

Is this acceptable? Or should I be looking to get it returned?

I've not noticed this visibly on other types of programmes so be interested to hear from others watching the football. I am on the UHD feed, but have observed bands on the HD too.

Thanks in advance.

LL

Re: Vertical Banding on Right Hand Side of 43 inch glass

Final update, after not getting anywhere on Saturday, went on chat yesterday, told the lady was only one who could help as Sky policy is the person dealing with the case is one who deals with.

explained this was now 6 weeks and being told the same thing a form has been sent, wait to be contacted etc. Eventually persuaded the operator to check with their manager, who then allowed them to put through cancellation and reinstate q.

collection of glass is 1st December - can't wait to finally end this and get my 713 GBP back. Never again.

It obviously affects your enjoyment of what you are watching so IMO it is unacceptable, but only you can decide if you return it or not

@Londonlad  Usual number so try calling after 7am or 9pm as these are usually quieter times.

For some clarity.
Is it possible to put up a picture that will clearly show this banding?

That's bad. I'd try some of the grey screen testing videos on YouTube to assess how bad.

@tarbat @More obvious here with the panning - so you think I should ask for a replacement:

Thanks @lettice i don't know how to quote messages on this but if you do have that facility that would be great. I'm reassured I'm not expecting too much now others have seen it .

Do you mean they will invite me to a live chat or give me a call, apologies I'm very new to this forum.

I've escalated this to Sky and they should be in touch with you soon about it.

I did wonder when it became common knowledge that it's the same company that makes Philips TVs whether there would be issues. Philips don't have the greatest reputation themselves.

Re: Vertical Banding on Right Hand Side of 43 inch glass

I've got this weird banding too...most noticeable on football on UHD - but is on other channels....standard HD is currently a better option on some channels for me...
