Re: Unable to remove item from playlist
@Kevjs I think my post from yesterday in quotes below explains exactly how I feel about the Glass Playlist. It's not about what subscribers willing WANT to ADD and REMOVE, it is this:-
" Will you people at Sky please UPDATE your software and give your PAYING customers CONTROL over what THEY want. I do not want my life controlled by some stupid algorithm that "ASSUMES", because I added some TV program to the Glass Playlist, I want to watch every single bloody episode Ad Infinitum...."

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist
I can't remove anything from the playlist, but I stopped using it anyway as it's impossible to tell if it'll do what you expect. Plus without the ability to remove anything it's impossible to navigate it anyway.
Seeing as this post opened in October and sky have managed to not fix it, I can't imagine they either care or are putting the slightest effort into fixing it. That doesn't bode well as the list of broken "features" on glass is massive and if they can't fix just one in 3 months it doesn't bode well.
my main issues would be
random if you can start show from the beginning, sometime you can sometimes you can't.
Doesn't have all the content(I still use the sky app on my phone to find things that glass doesn't list but you can find with a search)
the pucks turn off, I mean it's incredibly annoying, I've discovered if you take the controller with you they stay on but its rediculous to have such an aggressive power policy without any user control.
Only loads about 75% of the images for the tiles. Seeing as this is about the only selling point, major fail.
the absolute kicker and king of the bone headed no thinking approach, it has no accounts for users so you can't link your Netflix/Amazon/bbc account to the glass, so its utterly pointless using glass to access your Netflix or Amazon films because you don't know which account they are playing in, so you have to go to the app manually, which offers precisely no more functionality than any smart tv currently available offers and renders everything they tried to do with glass a failure.

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist
@yep125454 @I have Netflix through Sky as it's slightly cheaper and mmm so I've no issues getting my account there. I've just, for the first time, logged into my Amazon account, without any issues. I'm not actually watching anything with Amazon yet so can't add a program to see if it gets added to my playlist.

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist
@Kevjs wrote:No, I don't think you are a Moron. The very act of loading a programme and fast forwarding to the end makes any streaming service think you are watching it (indeed it's something I've done on Prime Video & Netflix to mark shows as watched - they also appear in Netflix's Continue Watching bar if you do that as I'd expect). It's little surprise that by watching even part of it every day keeps, a show which is broadcast every day keeps returning to the play now rail. Hardly surprising everyone doing this to empty the Play Now Rail sees it reappear when the next episode is broadcast, but they assume a bit of tempoary respite as it vanishes because they've fully caught up and therefore it has no reason to be in the Play Now Rail.
Undoubtly there are bugs where some shows don't vanish either - e.g. Around the world In 80 days not disappearing from my Play Now rail when I finished, but ignoring it meant it slowly drifted towards the end of my Play Now Rail and finally vanished this week; Shetland (which was added by the iPlayer autoplaying after watching a different show!) was also stuck on my Play Now for a while, and jumped to the front as new episodes broadcast. But by ignoring it, and watching other stuff on demand it finally vanished as you'd expect for the current design.
From what you have described (particularly in the post full of pictures which showed an otherwise empty playlist) there might be a bug where nothing in your playlist means the Play Now Rail items appear where your playlist should be, if your playlist is empty and therefore Lingo isn't actually in your playlist but just looks like it is.
Simple question - if you add a show you actually want to watch to your playlist does Lingo disappear from the TV Shows row of the Playlist View All, while still being shown underneath in the Play Now rail? If so that goes some way towards confiring that hypothesis. If not you may be very unlucky and have hit the exact same issue I have where one show (Inside Chrnobyl with Ben Fogel) on my Playlist can't be removed either - if you add it it moves to the front of the playlist, and when you remove it drops towards where it was originally added. All other shows vanish. By ignoring it it meant it eventually fell off the Play Now rail. Looks like you have to watch (on demand)/add 20 other series to your playlist to finally push something off the end of the play now rail.
Based on the screenshots you've provided you are either watching nothing, or only programmes as they are shown on TV Channels (without using watch from start), or possibly watching only Films to the end; but not any on demand TV (Except perhaps for Disney+ which never seems to show on the Play Now Rail). which is a little unusual for the way Sky Glass has been designed and could go some way to explaining why your experience is at odds to everyone elses.
We've no control of the Play Now rail, and all we can hope for is that Sky mimic Netflix, Prime, and All 4 which allow you to remove stuff from it - and that the other glitches with it are also resolved.
Excellent answer. I genuinely think people don't understand the difference between the Play Now rail and the Play List. I suppose it doesn't help that Sky call the Play Now rail the Play List on the Home Screen. However, if you go into it, you can see the Play Now rail separately and the Play List things that the user has personally added on separate rows for TV Shows, Movies and Sport.
The chap who has Lingo and 'interferes' with it every day is simply telling the TV they want to keep watching it. I bet Lingo isn't in his actual Play List.
People need to calm down about the Play Now rail. You CAN'T remove things from it. If you don't watch something on it, it will eventually drop off!

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist
@Jon+Reeve have you not seen the images I posted of LINGO my Playlist? Please do not insult me.
It goes deeper than just me trying his best to REMOVE some program I would never watch in the first instance. I am at the point where I mistrust the Glass Playlist so much that I do not want to use it. I deduce that from not just my experiences with it, but from the many discussion groups that have page after page of similar issues and concerns as myself, I bid you good day....

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist
@JanTK you misunderstand what I mean by account. I mean there are four of us in our family, we each have a Netflix sub user account, so my wife watches her things I watch mine and they stay separate. The same with Amazon and bbc. But because skyglass can't have user accounts when you play something on Netflix through glass it uses the last user account you selected in the sky glass Netflix app(you notice this if a child has last used the native Netflix app and you try and play something direct from glass that's not suitable, it won't play and will ask you to switch to another account). That account may not be your name account, so when whoever's account it was logs in they appear to have been watching whatever you were watching and you find what you watched isn't listed. It also means two people can't watch the same series as they will effect the most recent place the other is in. It's vital if you want to show all content in one place you can match the user experience across all those services. Sky glass can't without named user accounts mapped to the named user accounts from service providers. So you just have to use the Netflix app through sky glass which offers the exact same experience as any smart tv currently on sale and begs the question why pay for that privaledge?

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist
I should add, it's not true that using the app through sky glass is the same experience as any smart tv. The c4 app for example is crippled in sky glass, it will not show live tv but the app for smart TV's and sticks will. It's the reason I have to have a Amazon fire stick in my glass tv, so if I want to use the c4 app to watch a channel from the start of a show I use the one on the fire stick, which really is a demonstration of how bad glass really is.

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist
Thanks @Kevjs It seems I have to revaluate my whole "perception" of the Glass Menu systems. For the sake of clarity, I shall call the first screen I see when powering up my Glass TV as the "Home Screen". This is where I see a series of Titled Menus, all neatly tiled in horizontal rows.
If I scroll down this menu list, this is where I find the Playlist tile, and to its left is the instruction to View all. Selecting View all opens the Play now rail, and here as you know is where LINGO resides, rent free I add.
BUT, as you have so clearly pointed out @Kevjs From the HOME Screen, if I scroll down the series of Titled Menus to the titled menu tile TV Shows and select it, I scroll down and lo and behold, it has a Playlist Tile. Selecting View all it OPENS each and everything I have added using the Remotes add to Playlist button BELOW in a rail of its own. Here I DO have the options to REMOVE series when selecting an item listed therein.
So this begs the question. Why do I have what appears to be TWO Playlist menus, one on the Home Screen, the one that I have so many issues with, and one under the TV Shows menu system, which seems to work just fine?

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist
I've had time to examine just how the Glass Menu layout seems to function. It appears almost every Menu Rail shown on the Home Screen, accessed by pressing the Home button on the remote, is replicated under the TV Shows Menu layout. Why this is so only Sky knows? I've also discovered you can wake the Glass TV up using the remote's Home button, as well as its Power/Standby button. Sometimes the user is shown a different "Home Screen" depending on which button is used to wake up the Glass TV. Why is so is also a mystery to me, but I am starting to digress now..
So I've added a heap of programs to my Playlist via the Add to Playlist button on the Glass remote. Of course BOTH Playlist menus exist, one on the Home Screen menus, the other under the TV Shows menus.
It appears much easier for me to see just how the Playlist View all Tile works now I've added a heap of programs to my Playlist. It does open a Play now Sub Menu Rail, and it's obvious exactly what that rail is meant for, to Play Now.
It is also much clearer to me now, that the View all Playlist upper menu displays a Rail which consists of the added programs, where it is clearly seen upon selection they can be removed. So I thank all who have shed a light to where I am now able to understand why "I could not see the wood for the trees".

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water.....Jaws theme is playing in the background......LINGO the saga continues...
So I added a heap of shows across various platforms via the Glass remote's Add button to My Playlist, LINGO was one of them.
I haven't played any of them; I've left them there for 48 hours or more.... So today, when I open My Playlist, the only show NOT listed in the My Playlist/View all Rail after selecting View all is LINGO, it only appears in the sub menu Play Now Rail. All the other shows are listed in the Playlist/View all Rail, and they can be REMOVED, but LINGO is not in the View all Rail, and we all KNOW we cannot REMOVE programs from the Play Now Rail.
Can someone out there shed some light on why is this please?

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist
I seem to have a difference between the Home Screen Playlist, and the TV Shows Playlist
At the Home Screen, my Playlist only shows one program on its Rail:- "Playlist All the things you've added, ready to stream or enjoy later"
Its View all only shows one program, "Weatherman Walking". I assume this is because the other shows are not available at the time I added them.
At TV Shows Screen, my Playlist only shows ALL the programs on its Rail:- "Playlist All the things you've added, ready to stream or enjoy later"
Here again its View all only shows one program, "Weatherman Walking". I assume this is because the other shows are not available at the time I added them.
My question is. Is the Home Screen Playlist view of only ONE program intentional?Home Screen Playlist
Home Screen View all
TV Shows Screen Playlist
TV Shows Screen View all

Re: Unable to remove item from playlist
Ok, the one with weatherman walking on its own is there as this is the play now and it means you have a new unwatched available episode waiting for you.
The other 3 in view alll are the ones you have added to playlist and should be removable.
Hope that makes sense.
