Re: Issues after latest Software update

Hi @cewuk I've been running powerline (Devolo in my case) for years with the Sky Q WI-FI disabled as the Sky WI-FI is useless in my house due to the thick solid walls. Having said that, I don't appear to be having the same issue as others since the software was upgraded (downgraded in my opinion 😉) to Q170, I'm only seeing the message 'This program is no longer available', which needs a full Box power down to fix.

Apparently they are rolling out a code reversion, but it hasn't hit me yet. ☹️

Only v1 2TB boxes (the UHD non-HDR ones) are being temporarily reverted.

Re: Issues after latest Software update

I've just noticed our Sky Q 1tb box has updated to version Q170. When I choose the signal source the banner that displays the information now says "No time information".

Is this a known issue?

Follow on update, so woke up to a wind tunnel in the lounge this morning 😞 did a reboot and it's been fine so far today but I'm still not happy, if it happens again I'll be on the phone

Re: Issues after latest Software update

Hi @Anonymous

This is a new one on me, have you tried a complete power down (remove box from the power completely) restart?

Re: Issues after latest Software update

Makes no difference. I've just now totally unplugged the box and held in the power button.

No difference, the source banner still shows a 'No time information' where it used to show the time. Is it to do with the information it's taking from the tv?

@Anonymous

never seen this before and I can't see anybody else having this issue, this one may actually need help from Sky and possibly a new box.

@AnonymousDoes the message go when you unplug your Sky box, if it does not it is a message from your TV probably it has lost its internet connection so is not receiving a time signal.

Re: Issues after latest Software update

@bob1234 Good question, I had assumed that we were talking about the Sky box.

@Anonymous The other question is, what do you mean by 'the source banner'?

Re: Issues after latest Software update

@rscott I am aware, that's what I have, had it since 2016 when Q went live. 😉

Re: Issues after latest Software update

@davemjj1974 are you connected via WiFi or Ethernet/powerline? If the former that is almost certainly the problem and nothing sky are able to do will fix it based on my experience. You'll need to hardwire your boxes to your network and disable the WiFi. If already hardwired I'm out of ideas!

Re: Issues after latest Software update

When you choose the signal source for the tv to display be it BSkyB, TV, DVD etc. A banner appears at the top of the tv and it tells you what the source is and the definition the source is set up to display ie UHD and then it normally displays the time. Now it just says 'No Time Information'

@AnonymousIf the message is there regardless of what you set as the source it is a problem with your TV rather than the Sky box. Assuming it is a smart TV do any of the apps work.

Post the make and model of your TV, someone may have the same model or be able to look it up.

Re: Issues after latest Software update

There's nothing changed with the tv. Does your tv not display information when you swap between tv, dvd, bskyb etc?

The time was displayed prior to the recent software upgrade.

I'm confused as to why you think that has anything to do with Sky Q? clearly if it is on all inputs then it is your TV generating that message!

I would advise you to refer to your TV's user manual for this type of message.

Is it a Smasung TV?

If the TV displays "No Time Information", the internal clock has not been set. After setting the clock, this area will display the current time.
