Issues after latest Software update

Hi all,

 

Just checking in to see if anyone else has had issues since the latest software update was rolled out. I got the latest one, Q170.000.23.00L, earlier today and so far today my box has frozen 4 times! I reset settings on it about 3 hours ago, and it's done it again.

 

Anyone else having issues? I'm going to keep my eye on it tonight and see if it behaves and may call Sky tomorrow

When I switched on my Sky Q this evening it froze after a few minutes and I had to unplug it. On restarting it lasted about 10 minutes before it froze again. I cannot switch the box off with the controller and will have to unplug it again which I don't like to do.

My box is going crazy. I've rebooted it 5 times today already and it sounds like it's taking off.

 

Q was always the most unreliable tech in my house in the last 5 years but now it's on a different scale.

@davemjj1974  Unlucky. My 1TB 32B212 box has just updated to Q170 and so far seems ok. I wonder if the issues you describe are linked to specific box type ? What version is your box ?

Just watching Question Time in bed on my mini and out of the blue this... for the 10th time today. Usually this only happens every

@Voyager... check thst all of your Q boxes are running the same firmware in Settings/System Information as on occasions one misses an update which can ccause instability. If that has happened running the update software will update to the new Q firmware release.

Just checked and they are all running the same software. 

The problem is with the minis. They run for 10-20 mins then lose connectivity and initially the picture starts to pause then I get the blue screen of death. Happens to the wired and wireless minis. I have 3. 

I've had Q since launch and it's always been flakey requiring a reboot every month or so. Now it doesn't work for more than a couple of hours.

Just a spent an hour on the phone with a very helpful sky guy. 

We reset the main box and did a few other things. If that doesn't fix it they are going to replace the main box. 

As a matter of interest V170 reintroduces WiFi hotspots for non-sky wifi users. Doesn't matter to me because I have the hotspots turned off anyway.

Thanks all for the replies, last night I went on my mini box and got the bluescreen of death after about 30 minutes and the main box had jammed as well. I rebooted both and then left them and just used my Firestick upstairs.

 

Oddly, came down this morning and the mainbox seemed fine, and still is, so I'm wondering if (like another poster had said) that the minibox hadn't got the update and it maybe jammed because it was updating perhaps????? I don't know I'll be honest but 24 hours later it 'seems' on the face of it to be behaving.

 

For info, the box I have is the 2Tb Ultra HD (hardware version listed is 32B107.
