I phoned Sky and the guy was brilliant, all sorted.
Switch off at main 10 secs
Then hold in the power button and switch back on at main. Hold power button until flashing red light on Sky Glass tv. Go back into STV app and sign in. Follow all instructions and fully re-set. Happy.

Re: My region is not recognised on STV player
It should already be correct as it should match your postcode so if this is incorrect give Sky a call so your address can be updated,
If someone has helped you then please click on the LIKES button in their post.
If you need help please provide as much information as you can

Re: My region is not recognised on STV player
You will need to contact Sky to update your address. Sky contact details are at the below link:

Services I use on Sky:
- Sky Q in Ireland:
- ︎Sky Signature, Sky Cinema, Sky HD, Paramount+, Discovery+ (Standard)
- Sky Ultrafast Max (Fibre Internet)
- Sky Talk (VoIP)
- Sky Mobile
- Disney+
Please treat everyone with respect. 🙂

Re: My region is not recognised on STV player
I think they are talking about the ITVX/STV Player apps and not the channels. The apps ask the user to enter their postcode when setting up as depending on if you're in an ITV or STV region the content differs.
Can you confirm exactly what problem you're having?

Re: My region is not recognised on STV player
What is happening, is it asking for your postcode? is there an error message when you enter it?

Re: My region is not recognised on STV player
No message it just says BGT on ITV player is not available in my region. I also get London news on BBC. I live in Glasgow. I cannot input my post code anywhere on Sky Glass.

@Widzy1 as you are in Scotland you would need to use STV player and not ITV player or ITVX STV and ITV are 2 seperate companies one covering Scotland the other covering the rest of the UK
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer
Sky Q 2 TB (Silver)Box, 2 Mini boxes since June 2016, all connected by wifi
Sky Broadband Hub/SR203, Sky Ultrafast broadband
Ultimate on Demand, Q Experience/UHD, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema
LG 49SJ 810 V UHD TV, Google Pixel 7 Pro mobile

Both services are available across the UK but the content differs depending on if you are in an ITV or STV area.
In ITV areas, STV Player only offers a limited service with programmes they've acquired for specifically for STV Player like Brookside and some STV classics including Taggart.
In STV regions, STV Player offers full catch-up/box sets of recent ITV1 programmes, and ITVX is much more limited.
