Re: Changes to the TV Guide - January 2026

Correct, I'm suggesting that if sky could reduce the music genre originates from 360-367 or somewhere further 540-579 range,  Entertainment & Documentaries Ex-spillover channels 350-399 and Sky Sports Active 480-489 correctly.  🤔

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - January 2026

It would be great, especially if Sky launch a new Yachting tv on their Entertainment genre. 🤔

@UT393

Yatching is a sport so wouldn't be on a non sport channel. Having said that imo there wouldn't be viewing figures to make such a venture financially viable.

Moments like these remind me that Kartoon Channel (New Zealand), KidoodleTV, DreamWorks or Moonbug didn't launch. They're probably jumbled together after Disney Channel/XD, POP, Tiny POP, POP Max or CITV got discontinued.

I find it very odd that HGTV/HGTV+1 was removed today (13th Jan) when the channel doesn't close until midnight later tonight (01:00 for +1).

@Marlu-Nyu  When they say 13th for example they usually remove at midnight on 12th into the 13th.

But that is normally when the channel has agreed with the relevant parties to end the playout & uplinking.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

I imagine it will be a long time until 625 had Disney and then continues moving to 622 still transmitted some 'Kids' genre after 2007 reshuffle. Now 613 is back on Disney Jr.

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - January 2026

Little disappointed TLC HD has been moved to 828 in Ireland and TLC SD in on 133. I get it that the adverts for Ireland are important, but can we have TLC on 347, like with E4 HD, More4 HD, etc.

So that's not an issue really? It just shows Information on 996.

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - January 2026

There is a reason why it was a big gap to fill on certain HD/SD channels, have lost both franchises. Apparently being in the same genre and removes 101-999 blank. Was a great idea, if sky had been shuffled up to only unallocate the EPG would look something like this.

Entertainment & Documentaries - 101-199
Entertainment & Documentaries (+1s) - 201-299

Channel 996 is the Channel Line-Up, an audio accessibility channel for those with vision impairments.

Sky Intro on channels 899, 950 and 998 were removed yesterday (22 Jan). Channel 998 was the default channel that the Sky system would go to when it was powered on for the first time, after a power cut or turned off at the plug. Channels 889 and 950 were channel buffers for the adult section.

Sky News HD (with adverts for the UK) was added on channel 997 in Ireland. I'm assuming that Luxembourgish law (where UK channels are registered for the EU) or some technical restriction wouldn't allow the system to go to channel 501 as the default channel in Ireland, hence why this was added.

I don't know if this is still true, but Sky rent out or allows companies to buy their EPG space. So, this is possibly a reason when the That's TV and Now music channels haven't moved up yet. However, we don't get to decide our channel numbers for Sky, except for Favourites.
