Re: Changes to the TV Guide - January 2026

I just spoke to a sky representative who had verbally confirmed for me that sky one is coming back and that sky max and sky showcase will be closing down. She said that she was on a teams training call this morning where this was confirmed and discussed

Hardly an official announcement. Even if it's correct the agent shouldn't be disclosing it like that and would probably get into big trouble for doing so.

Not really, with a lot of large companies any future news releases are normally under NDA until they make official announcements.

As it stands until any official update from Sky is provided i'd still treat it as speculation.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Hi @GD1 I am only going directly from what the sky rep on the phone told me yesterday. Fully appreciate it's not official, but none of us know whether there is a specific staff embargo on them telling customers if they ask, which I did. Cheers, I think it's bang on and we will hear this week

As I previously stated call centre staff shouldn't be considered as a reliable source of information like that, and if it's correct they shouldn't be announcing it before any official announcement by Sky.

Personally I don't see what all the fuss is about.

Honestly, if true, as I would presume all calls are recorded, the rep would be disciplined for saying that. As it currently stands on 2 Feb, there is no official announcement from Sky through the proper channels, so as of now it's hearsay.

I think there’s been a misunderstanding. I never said I want anyone disciplined. What I said was:

“Honestly, if true, as I would presume all calls are recorded, the rep would be disciplined for saying that.”

The point I was making is about policy and process, not personal intent. If Sky records customer interactions (calls, chats, messages, etc.), and a rep is heard sharing information that’s either incorrect or not publicly released, Sky would almost certainly take action, either for misinformation (if untrue) or for disclosing internal/private information before officially released.

So my comment wasn’t about “wanting” consequences for someone, it was simply pointing out how corporate systems and compliance normally work.

I'd add that Sky probably want to make a big announcement of Sky One's return (if indeed it's happening), so certainly wouldn't want staff disclosing it to callers

yeah, I highly doubt there's any plans for maintaining EPG Space around a new channel number where it should be required and placing it on the blank spot above.  The 350-399 only a small section of Music genre,  if sky consider the slot when allocating between 522 or 580 to plug gaps, may reduce 39 channels whilst all MTV/The Box then Trace closes three-year ago and it fits so well with 540-579 can avoid Unassigned. Plus Entertainment & Documentaries was in the middle of sports then Sky Sports Active along 900's. Theres so many reasons like 350-399 weren't even in the middle, might actually be overspill into Entertainment & Documentaries from 450-489 did not fit into the 101-199 range. Just like 395 Information TV +1 one month after the reshuffle happened August 2014.

Option

Entertainment & Documentaries (Overspill) - 350-399

Sports (Active) - 480-489

Music - 540-579

I heard POWERStarz2004 mentioned 360-399 - https://forums.digitalspy.com/discussion/2392062/sky-satellite-monthly-news-thread-october-2020/p13
