Sky Shield is definitely not working as of 15 minutes ago (17:30 24/11/2023)

 

I've had received two calls now that should have been challenged but weren't.  One of which was from a blatant scammer.

 

I do hope that Sky fix this issue soon.  There is potentially a lot of vulnerable people out there who really do need the protection that Sky Shield provides.

I just had the same call from someone purporting to be from Sky about my broadband being slow. It also got through Sky Talk Shield. I have blocked the number manually, but this number seems to be linked to multiple scam calls!! 
Not great that Sky Shield didn't screen it.

I wasn't able to activate Sky Talk Shield either from the app or from my PC. I called customer support and was advised that it would be activated as from last Monday (it's now Thursday). However, the Talk Shield icon isn't showing up on my phone and when I access the link through the PC, I get an error message saying something to the effect that it's not your fault, it's ours. On another thread I read that the link wasn't a live one and suggesting a different link. However, this doesn't work either. My phone doesn't have a built in call blocker and I'm still getting loads of scam calls. Does anyone know if a resolution to this issue is in sight?

At least they have admitted there is a problem, with a notice on the first page stating there is a problem and they are looking into it. I will not hold my breath.

I spoke to them last week and again they tried to send an engineer out, I told them its pointless because everyone is like it, I have unplugged my home phone now as sick of the calls

I reported it on the app store. Got a response finally - the tech team are working on a fix. Lets see!

Had a voice message yesterday about talk shield to say it is still being looked into but still cannot understand why it is taking so long .

I have been getting Server Error when trying to access Talk Shield for the last few weeks.  Spammers are getting through and I cannot block them.

This has to be the longest running issue in the history of tech... Other mobile providers have succeeded in making call blocking work,  so maybe Sky need to talk to them.  We really need a strong defence against this constant bombardment of scam and spam, and it's a service that is still part of the Sky marketing, yet isn't being provided.

I have just phoned head office and spoke to some one about this problem , i was told that the IT deparment are still trying to solve it , at the moment they are trying to replicate the issue on their devices to see why it is happening , i will be getting another call on Thursday from the person who is dealing with my complaint .
