Cancel sky talk anytime

I wish to get rid of my landline phone alltogether, so wish to cancel Talk sky talk anytime extra, but iv read on other threads that Sky would put me on a different tarrif like pay as you go, but i dont want to be put on any tarrif as i dont want to pay for it or be charged for line rental, i only use my mobile phone with vodafone, how do i cancel sky talk anytime extra, as it seems a bit confusing if im still charged  for line rental and tarrif i would be as well go with another broadband profider, can anyone help and put it in simple terms please thank you.

@wanbli if you switch to the Pay as you Talk tariff, you won't be paying for Sky's landline service unless you make any calls. Just call (free) on 150 to switch to PAYT.

You'll still pay line rental as part of your broadband subscription, because you're still using your telephone line to deliver your broadband service. I don't believe any provider separately specifies line rental charges any more, so wouldn't charge you differently.

Sky Talk is already bundled together with Sky Broadband. You can't cancel the Talk side of things totally without cancelling Broadband as well. Just make sure you're on the Sky Pay As You Talk tariff (call Sky if you're not). That way if you make no calls there are no Sky Talk charges. (The Pay As You Talk tariff is the default tariff when you join).

You can disconnect your landline handset if you wish but keep it handy in case you need to call Sky as the calls would be free.

Would Sky charge me for the landline if i disconect my landline, as my broadband does work with it disconected. thanks

My line rental from Sky is free at the moment, but iv disconnected my landline and my broadband still works, thanks for replying

As we've said if you are on the Pay As You Talk tariff you will only be charged for calls you make (obviously except freephone numbers and calls to Sky).

@wanbli do you mean you've disconnected your landline phone?  That makes no difference to what Sky charge you.

All you need to do is switch to Pay as you Talk.

So those 11 calls you made in that billing period would be charged (and quite expensive) if you made them via your landline after changing tariff to PAYT.

As you can see, Sky Talk Anytime Extra is the only thing you're being charged for in relation to Sky Talk (landline).

If you change to Pay as you Talk, you'll save the £18 charge. Everything else will stay the same.
