I have 2 sky hd boxes and both are now showing error messages when trying to view certain channels. Issue only occurred as boxes had been powered down whilst on holiday.

signal strength 70% , signal quality 80%, lock indicator set to OK, on both boxes.,
when contacted sky support all they wanted to do was move me to skyq.

Tune to one of the affected channels and re-check your signal strengths.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more"No Satellite Signal" is an error generated by your Sky box, it has nothing to do with broadband (Internet connectivity) and usually indicates an issue with one or more of the following:
You may have to call out a local satellite installer, unless you already have Sky Protect insurance, to check/fix your system, another option is to move to Sky Q, as during the move all issues will be resolved as part of the install, there is also the option of Sky Glass or Sky Stream, if you want to move away from satellite TV and use the Internet

Thanks given its both HD boxes behaving in the saem way I suspect its more likely to be the sky dish as single common point of failure as opposed to connections in the boxes.
Not surprising SKY technical support didnt mention this and just wanted me to move to sky q, which I'm reluctant to do as have to have 2 mini boxes as loose magic eye withn new skyq boxes.

Sky no longer provide engineer support for Sky+,,which is why their solution is to upgrade. Alternatively you could engage a local satellite installer to take a look.

If you move to Sky Q why would you need two minis and why would you want to use magic eyes?
