Sky keeps recording cancelled recordings

My sky box keeps recording programmes that I have cancelled.

I have cancelle the recording from the planner and from the scheduled section numerous times, but sky still continues to record the programme. Can anyone help please? I’ve reset the sky box but it doesn’t seem to make a difference.

Re: Sky keeps recording cancelled recordings

Hi there,

Our tech teams have looked into this and isolated the issue to a bug in the current Sky+ HD R022 software.

A fix has now been found and it will be implemented in the next software release R023 going live in spring 2020.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Before removing them from the scheduled section did you press the green button to remove the series link first before deleting it. And one other to note is if you do this before 30 days since the last episode was recorded the series link will return.

Re: Sky keeps recording cancelled recordings

We've just noticed something similar tonight, Friends had been recorded 3 times off comedy central xtra which to my knowledge we've never recorded friends on simply because it's not HD. Have deleted the scheduled recording with the series link which in my mind should have removed any series link with it but if that's not the case then its abit of a daft design on the part of whoever designed and approved the code for recordings.

Re: Sky keeps recording cancelled recordings

If episodes are closer together than 31 days, then if this is correct it will be impossible to cancel the series link until the programme has been withdrawn completely by sky. The programme which keeps recording on my box is one I've never seen or heard of, (catfish) and the number of repeats means that my recording space is constantly being filled with dross.

Re: Sky keeps recording cancelled recordings

That's the thing, I've already watched them - these are repeats! 😩 I checked my planner again this morning and yep, there it is again in the 'scheduled' listings. It's driving me nuts!

Re: Sky keeps recording cancelled recordings

Yes, I’m pig sick of this too, recording catfish, something i have absolutely no interest in. What's annoying is I cancel everything in scheduled and the planner including the series links, and still the program keeps coming back. I'm really concerned as this is swallowing up my broadband allowance and the HDD space. I'll be going on holiday for over a month and are also concerned that it will fill the HDD to capacity therefore not recording the programmes I actually want to watch.

Sky, please sort this out!!!

@seanious It's not affecting your broadband as you're recording it via satellite
