If you tell us the problem with the box someone may be able to help.
Contacting Sky is always difficult, you could try an email to viewerR@sky.uk but I doubt they would help with this, you just have to keep trying the phone number.

I was wondering if they would set up an online chat for him, like some of the employees on the forum occasionally do.

They deal with program related questions, anything else they will not deal with and that includes setting up a chat as they don't post on here.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIf that's no satellite signal, it's more likely to be a fault with your dish setup than your Sky box. If it's your own dish, call Sky to book, an engineer. Say 'technical' when the robot asks why you're calling., and don't hang up. Eventually you'll be out through to an adviser.

Sky+ / Sky+ HD are end-of-life as far as Sky are concerned: they will only offer you a move to Sky Q.
Typically we'd advise purchasing an HD box second-hand (about £25 on eBay) but if your subscription is actually for Sky+ rather than Sky+ HD then I don't think there's a possible upgrade path to HD these days.
