How can I get the HD pack?

Hi, I have a Sky+ HD DRX 895 2GB box with Sky Signature, Sky Sports complete pack HD
I'm not interested in SkyQ or Stream, but would like to add the HD package. Is this still possible?
Also how do I stop the incessant annoying onscreen messages telling me I'm about to lose my channels?

@alchal  Please note: Some media outlets have been incorrectly stating that Sky+HD customers will also be affected by the SD channel changes

Around about August 2024 ALL Sky SD owned channels are to change their delivery protocol to DVB-S2 that only the HD boxes can process, so ALL older SD only boxes will not be able to output these channels (if your sky box can receive Channel 5 HD then you need do nothing as your box will not need replacing)

If your box is SD only and you want to keep receiving these channels you can either replace your incompatible boxes with a second hand Sky+HD box (One of the following models will suffice: DRX890 , DRX890W , DRX890WL , DRX895 , DRX895W , DRX895WL) or upgrade to a newer Sky service (Sky Q / Sky Glass / Sky Stream)

You will need to call Sky about getting it added, they will probably try the hard sell to Sky Q but you do not have to upgrade to get this added to your account.

I suspect Sky won't object to you spending more with them by subscribing to the HD add-on! I'd give them a call, but be prepared for them to urge you to switch to Sky Q/Stream. You won't lose your channels as you have a DRX895 model, despite the warning message (disregard Sky if they tell you you will - there appears to be a few advisers who aren't clear about the change), but you can't prevent the warning message. Just dismiss it with the Backup button

Re: How can I get the HD pack?

Thanks folks, I'll get my big boys pants on and brave the Indian call centre, which I still have nightmares about after a recent experience.

Do you know how I can stop the onscreen warnings about losing my channels?

Re: How can I get the HD pack?

I just tried Customer Services and he said that at the moment he was unable to help me with adding the HD package. I'm wondering if they have stopped offering the HD upgrade pack to Sky+ HD boxes.

Which channels are you seeing the message on?

As far as I'm aware, you shouldn't be getting that message on a Sky+HD box.

hi @alchal

Regarding the errant  'upgrade' mesages I have escalated your post to a SKY support team, who, hopefully, will be in touch.

I cannot say if they will be able to get rid of the messages but I am sure they will assist if possible

Please see this link re the escalation and what you might see:

If you are using Safari I believe you must make sure that 'Hide IP address' is not checked in settings to be able to see it - if you have difficulty finding that setting then may be try accessing here with another browser

Re: How can I get the HD pack?

The problem was caused by Sky having out of date details about my Sky box. All sorted now with a new HD pack added.

Many thanks for all the help.
