Can I get a new Sky Box?

I currently use a Sky+ HD box and was wondering if I was able to just upgrade to the Sky Q box. 
The only reason I want the new box is because it's slimmer and will fit my house better.

I do not want to pay more and I am happy with what I am getting right now with my subscription. 

I think a few months back I received a letter though the post saying that I was eligible to upgrade for free, but I am not too sure. I have been a customer for over 10 years. 
please can someone advise? I simply just want a new box and do not want to pay more per month.

@RehanaNAZ  You need to call Sky to upgrade to Sky Q.

 

You can call on 150 from a Sky Talk Line or Sky Mobile.

If you haven't got a current Sky Mobile or Sky Talk this link should help:
(UK) https://www.sky.com/help/home Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number
(ROI) on the same link change the flag in the very bottom corner to the ROI flag to obtain an 0818 number.

Stay on the line and don’t hang up if prompted to. Apparently the quieter times to ring are just after 7am or about 9pm.

Please Note: Sky+ is now a legacy service that Sky are winding down

Sky+ boxes have not been manfuacfured for over 9 years, you will need to change to another Sky service to get a new box (Sky Q/Sky Glass/Sky Stream)

@RehanaNAZ be sure to understand the difference between Sky+ and Sky's other tv platforms. You won't be able to revert to Sky+ if you don't get on with them.

@RehanaNAZ  Also important to note that you won't be able to revert back to sky plus once the upgrade is complete should you find sky Q unsuitable for yourself

The LNB needs changing on the dish but otherwise the cabling shouldn't need changing unless there's an issue with it.

@RehanaNAZ the engineer needs to change the LNB on the dish they will also chech the dish and cables if these are fine they willleave them as they are

I cancelled my Sky Q installation

I ordered the new Sky Q box and had the engineer scheduled to install. However, I have now decided that I do not want the new box and cancelled the order / installation via MySky app. Will my Sky Q contract also cancel? I am currently using the Sky + HD box and I want to continue using it with my current set up or subscription. I hope I don't get charged either as the booking was 2 weeks away.

You will need to make sure you get a new viewing card as Sky will have initiated a cancellation for your existing card

I don't think anyone here can advise - only SKY (we are just other customers)

 

I have, howeve,  escalated your post to a SKY support team, who, hopefully, will be in touch and may be able to clarify the current position and assist you

If you are using Safari I believe you must make sure that 'Hide IP address' is not checked in settings to be able to see it - if you have difficulty finding that setting then may be try accessing here with another browser

I'm not sure at what point you can no longer revert to Sky+. Best confirm with Sky
