215 premiership matches next season

I understand that from next season SKY will be broadcasting up to 215 Premiership matches next season. Am I right in thinking at last 1 or more matches on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons will only be LIVE on SKY Q boxe*s? Also the 3 P.M. Saturday U.K. and N. Ireland blackout  rule will still apply?

@theredhouse55555  The answer is yes to both questions

although there may be a game available on the linear sky sports plus channel (412) at times

you would still be able to access the extra games via the sky sports mobile app for phones and tablets excluding pcs and laptops

They will be shown on any device that can access the streams so yes to a Sky Q box but you will also be able to view them via the Sky Sports app on a mobile device but not on a Sky+ box.

I understand [As well] that the Sky Sports app might be avilable [Alongside] the T.N.T. Sports app from next season. Is this correct or to be deceided?

The app is available now on mobile devices but will not be on Sky+ boxes as they can not support such apps which is why some that have these boxes were sent emails about this earlier in the week in an attempt to get them to upgrade.

hi @theredhouse55555

I am not too sure what you are asking

SKY HD boxes have never been able to host apps and will never do so - apart from not technically being capable SKY are doing their best to move everyone off.

SKY Sports app is already available on a variety of devices (including SKY Q) as is the Discovery Plus app which can be used for TNT

Re: 215 premiership matches next season

Sorry Sky. I am not buying it. The extra matches on Friday Evening and Sunday afternoon could be broadcast on Mix,Arena,Action or Main Event or even Sky Sports Football channel. If T.N.T. can still have the Red Button on Sky + boxes why not Sky? Sounds like a SKY money grab to me.

@theredhouse55555

Highly unlikely I would have thought.

hi @theredhouse55555

I am not too sure why you are saying a money grab as to my knowledge they have not increased subscriptions to cover the cost of providing the extra games

Regarding showing on other Satellite channels a couple of things :

Using an app & streaming they can show as many games that are concurrent - I don't follow Football but I am guessing could be many simultaneous matches

There are other sports that may also clash and may be using the alternative  Satellite channels

Edit : BTW I must stress SKY seem to be  doing their best to move everyone off an outdated platform - unfortunately wishing it otherwise will not change this

Re: 215 premiership matches next season

I understand. But if Sky would like me to get SKY Q, just close my old SKY + down. Surely.

@theredhouse55555 my guess is that will happen but may take a  bit more time

They have already stopped allowing cards to be paired with boxes they were not paired with in October last year

No, it's up to you if you want to change. You would be able to see more of the games if you did change.

I'm in the same boat and, currently, intend to keep my Sky+HD Box.

Same here, but with the mobile app, at least I know I can access every game if i wish and am not missing out completely
