I'd say that particularly when it comes to sports, it's still impossible to state with 100% certainty that any live sporting event will 'record' in full and be able to be viewed at a later time. There are simply too many variables.
Adding events to your playlist from the EPG should work, but it relies on the EPG being updated with any over-runs, or it relies on someone at Sky adjusting the metadata for the saved section of the broadcast stream to allow the full event to be logged and saved correctly for customers to view via their playlist.
It can work. There are plenty of people on this forum who claim it always works for them, but there are also plenty who are frustrated at many aspects of the playlist system.
All you can do is try it out. You can easily cancel if it doesn't do what you hope it will do.

Re: Tnt does not record full race in cycling
Hi @Red+wizard
We are fellow subscribers so cannot tell you why. However it is likely down to an issue between the broadcaster and Sky. They best course of action would be to email details of the issue to sky's viewer relations team. Their email address is viewerR@sky.uk.
They will investigate and feedback accordingly.

Re: Tnt does not record full race in cycling
Hi
Is this happening all the time or just sporadically? Not that sporadically is acceptable.
I am not yet a SKY user yet but likely to start a contract soon. I have been researching to try and ensure that I get what I really want from any contract or package I sign up to. Researching has led me down many rabbit holes! Service provider websites are clearly made to be unclear and confusing at times!
Cycling is perhaps the number one sport I want to be able to watch and being cut off from finishes would be totally frustrating!
I have read somewhere along the line(though I think this related to another sport) that it can be worth "recording" the program that follows your event to avoid this happening. Is that right?
I will not be impressed if I sign myself up for a contract/package which does not deliver races in full.
Grateful for any observations/thoughts on this please.

Re: Tnt does not record full race in cycling
I am really quite concerned now about signing up for an expensive package and being let dow on an absolutely fundamental point.
Below some extracts from a converstion dating from December 2024 elsewhere in this forum.
Can anybody put my mind at rest?
"I know that the Stream is not a PVR, but it still offers to "record" things, and yes I realise that live sports will run over the allotted time occasionally, but surely that's what the catch up service is for?......
A number of times now the last game of the Darts will be missing the end, in what is usually a good game as the PDC and Sky deliberately schedule the best games last!....
Honestly, you really couldn't make this up - Sky Stream is now NOT a new product so they should have this basic functionality working by now. It really is quite an unintuitive system…..
I took out Sky Stream mainly for the sports and mainly for the Darts so this is not going to work going forward when the Premier League is on every week and the matches regularly run over the alloted time, is it just going to be the same and I'll miss the final every week?
What about the Masters Golf? The Open? Will I watch all the days play on catch up and then the ending is missing because it went to a play off and overran the schedule?"

Re: Tnt does not record full race in cycling
@Simon92 you do have the option of trying it out for yourself and if not satisfied return it within the 31 day cooling off period

Re: Tnt does not record full race in cycling
Thanks but it does seem to be quite a straightforward issue. Is it not?

Re: Tnt does not record full race in cycling
@Simon92, @BenJoBanjo makes good points. All things being well, things will record but there's a lot of room for error there. That's also the case with cable or satellite TV for what it's worth. For example, if an event is delayed for the weather, it over-runs or changes channel mid-event then it could stop. These issues have plagued sports recordings forever really. On traditional DVRs you could configure them to record for X minutes after too, just in case. But the safest thing in my experience is to record the next scheduled show too, even if you aren't actually interested in it, because the chances are if it over runs it's overrunning into that slot.

Re: Tnt does not record full race in cycling
When Eurosport was available I never recorded the cycle races but watched them live and on demand on Discovery plus. The coverage used to continue for a long time after finish.
Is that still possible with TNT? Looking at the coverage which is listed, but not available, on the basic version there are two live races today and highlights of many events.

@Bill051 It looks like it. I browsed on Discovery+ and Men | Brugge – De Panne (195.6km) is there to watch at 2 hours and 11m long

Re: Tnt does not record full race in cycling
After a discussion with a sky regarding my problem it was discovered that the Q box i have is relatively old and not a lot of space on the internal hard drive. Therefore sky have agreed to send me a newer one with increased capacity. So in overall responce I am awaiting delivery to tryout the new equipment. Thank you sky

Re: Tnt does not record full race in cycling
Ah so this was a Sky Q problem, it was posted in Stream forum so I think we were trying to solving the wrong issue. Glad you got it sorted.
