Who's Paul? Why does his button only last ten minutes? The Isle of Skye must be livid.

Sorry, I only jest...

If you mean pause only lasts ten minutes then yes, that's correct. Sky have implemented this as an energy saving thing and there's no way to extend the time I'm afraid.

STOP YOUR PUCKS FROM TURNING OFF please

This stupid sky puck turns off when paused for 10 minutes even with the settings set to never do that?

This didn't used to do this when I first got the puck but over the past few months Everytime I go to make a drink, go to the toilet or good forbid head outside into the cold as I am a dirty smoker but it's getting really **bleep** frustrating having to turn everything back on anytime I need to do anything and I've paused live tv well I certainly can't go back and resume where I left off after it has "gone into standby mode" sort it out and let me decided when the device I pay for turns off or not any other device (my phone, iPad, laptop, PC, games console or hell a different subscription tv service provider) let's the paying customer decide if stupid functions like that should be on or off it's my electricty bill so why do you think it's your problem sort it out or your going to lose at the very least this house hold as a customer and from the looks of your own forums a lot of other long standing customers aswell

Re: Sky stream standby mode

The Sky Stream box is only 5v and uses less then THEC64 Mini that use 5v too and that does not turn itself off(so Sky Steam uses 0.0.5 WATS a day so half a penny a day so about 15p a month) , you should have a option to set the box how you want it, Sky are not paying for the electric bill, you are, people do not like it when they can't control things properly.
Why do you have a Overnight Power Saving Mode in Settings and not day time saving mode, its silly, you did this on Sky Q and then changed it so the customer had control of it so it didn't work there too....?
All this will do is push people to use Freview because that does not interrupt your viewing, if your not watching a Sky Channel, its already doing it to me so still using the same electric every month, I did get rid of my Freeview box then got another one because of this problem.
You can't rely only on Sky Steam for your viewing and that was the whole idea of me getting it, I only used Sky Q when I had it and never had any probelms with it or need to use anything eles.

I like working things out like its a puzzle... 🙂

I was a PC Engineer and fix peoples PCs by going to there house, Windows XP was known to slow down PCs over time and clog up the PCs RAM and its start-up and had to reinstall it for the customer, the only way you could fix WinXP.

I now work on Mini Retro Consoles(replica retro consoles and computers) and modify them with PCUAE - https://projectcarouselusb.eu

Re: Sky stream standby mode

I switched to Sky Stream relatively recently and this is super frustrating. Why Sky thought this was a good idea is baffling.

I'm not a fan of this box at all.

@Carlosm74 I agree it is very annoying and in fact I was caught out by it a few hours ago.  Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it as it is designed into the puck as part of the ECO features..

Getting too hot perhaps? Is the puck out in the open and not sat on top of any other heat-generating device?

Re: Puke

It's not sat on anything however our soundboard sits across that and our ee box

When you say 'sits across' are you saying you have a soundbar sitting on top of the Stream puck and EE box?

As well as generating heat, soundbars can interfere with WiFi reception.

Re: Puke

We'll have to try moving things around to see if that is the issue, thanks
