You can do it now without having to pay out of your contract. When you phone and ask why just mention the technical issues and they won't charge you other than what you have used for that month

Did you get the problems straight away or after a bit? I'm only 24 hours in but the picture looks better than Q, no idea if that's even possible or just my eyes, but so far it seems great. Presume you've checked wifi strength etc?

I believe you can even swap to Q, if you can have a dish and really want the sky product

Still getting problems with ours. Usually goes down twice a night. Absolutely no reason at all. Freezes. Unplug it reset it. Turn this off, turn this on . Do this do that , Sky should warm customers if no good after a 60 day trail then return it. Pile of crap. We are doing the same. As soon as contract is up it's going back. Free view & YouTube we will be going to.

Don't wait mate. Do it now they won't charge you for technical issues

I'm out.
I've given it the full 2 years plus a couple of months. The product itself is good. The delivery is just woeful. The puck is simply not fit for purpose. The software updates rolled out every few months fix one thing, introduce another problem. Sky are keen to 'blame the internet provider' - everything else that runs off my internet provider works without flaw. Sky Stream - nope.
I really wanted to like SkyStream. However, they're their own worse enemy. If you don't need to "record" sport, you're better off on Now, where you can pick and mix what you want when you want. Just want Sport ? Pay for Sport. Just want entertainment ? Pay for entertainment. The fact everything has to be wrapped up in a basically worthless 'Ultimate' package is a massive own goal, in my honest opinion.
I'm not going to reel off the things that are wrong, they're already well documented here, but the plain fact is it doesn't work for me and my use case.
At least it wasn't too painful to exit - assertively stating 'can you please cancel my contract?' every time they pluck another random figure out of the air to tempt me to stay resulted in a 31 day exit, and away from the shackles of Sky. Well sort of. Hello Now.
If they revisit their business model and perhaps provide hardware that is fit for purpose or, more realistically, look to push out Entertainment OS to other providers so customers can choose their own hardware, then I may come back.

I agree - it does seem to be 'all about the sport'.
I get that. I'm not disputing their sports coverage is second to none. It really is excellent.
It's the way it's packaged. You're essentially subsidising the vast sums of money they pay for the broadcasting rights by paying for an 'Ultimate' bundle which is completely surplus to most users' requirements.
In the 2 years I've had Sky Stream, I can probably count on one finger the number of times I've strayed from the sports offering to something 'exclusive' to Sky (something on Sky Comedy I think, probably Micky Flanagan or something). Everything else is available everywhere else for considerably cheaper through apps available on other platforms (even my LG TV).
Sky really need to work out where they want to be - Now seems to be the right way forward. If they could integrate sports catch up or recording to the cloud in that service offering, they'd be onto a winner.

I like the sky puck to . It's great I've no big ugly dish on the wall now . If only it would work all the time . My puck won't connect to the sky 5 ghz or the Ethernet and I've had to connect it to an extender I have set up . Our iPhones won't connect either to WiFi on 5 ghz but ok on 2.4 ghz. I've upgraded to sky wifi max bought good hdmi and Ethernet cables to no avail. Voice sync is always out and terrible on certain channels. But it really is a joke of a service but hey ho as long as the football are getting their millions .

I've had no problems on 5ghz, I have got an expensive mesh router though

Well I didn't want to tempt fate but ........ I bought a cheap Mercusys Hale mesh to see if it made a difference. Switched off WiFi on the sky Max and connected the halo and made it the main router . What a difference.. night a day . Can even connect the puck with Ethernet cable and no problems with it switching on this morning. Now I know it's only been a day but fingers crossed this looks promising. I've got one mesh on my kitchen window and getting full speed in my shed and at the bottom of the garden. Well impressed so far 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Realistically all ISP provided kit is built to a cost.
I'm not with Sky Broadband but stilll have to use a WAP in order to achieve reliable results with some devices. Oddly my Puck and Glass work well with a wifi connection direct to the router. Horses for courses, I guess....
