Re: f1 channel issues

Video of the same issue that I am facing. Apologies there was no option to upload media on my previous post.

I really hope Sky fix this before the season starts in just over a week's time.

Re: f1 channel issues

The issue is an odd one because I've just turned to SS F1 HD and apart from the awful picture quality by comparison to F1, it's stable for me. I flicked to F1 UHD and that's also stable... Both suffer from appalling sound edits and levels though but I guess we can thank IndyCars production team for that 🤣

Re: f1 channel issues

It can be fine for a couple of hours sometimes, before the issue occurs. But across the three days of F1 testing it happened more than once on each day for us.

Hi all,

Thanks so much for letting us know. I've sent this to support teams and to whittle down the investigation, would you be able to give me a rough timestamp of when this happened, or if you notice it again please respond with the time so the team can review?

@TeamBeans we appreciate the video!

Re: f1 channel issues

I can give you some exact timestamps but I don’t think this is a broadcast issue because it fixes itself when you change channel and back again.

It has occurred for us at:

1 March - Twelve Fifty Two PM
26 Feb - Seven Thirty Six AM

26 Feb - Seven Thirty Six PM

It has occurred at least three times a day every day.

Re: Live F1 - Flashing black screen

This is reported on other threads. I have the same issue. You can work around it by changing channel and back again, proving (to me) it is a software issue or a weak WiFi antenna in the puck. Re-posting my reply here to the other thread:

For anyone still facing this, I am continuing to debug it with someone in Sky who actually knows what they are talking about, unlike sadly most of their customer service team.

Sky could see some latency on my typically excellent home WiFi. When that occurs the software on the puck is poorly written and cannot recover itself. Since switching to a more stable 2Ghz connection, and then switching to Ethernet, the issue has never occurred.

I can't hard-wire all my pucks so there is still a software issue Sky need to solve. They should be able to deal with a small amount of latency by themselves instead of needing to switch channel and back again during live sports.

The well-reported lip sync issue, however, is a known issue and not fixed. That still occurs on Ethernet.

Re: Live F1 - Flashing black screen

Hi

When watching Sky F1 our screen flashes to a black screen every 60 seconds. Sky tel no keeps saying go to Sky Community. Any suggestions on what we can do. We have UHD and can watch programmes fine on other channels.

Thanks

Have you checked the broadband speed reaching your puck? Run a network check from the get help menu on the Netflix app. What speed is received?

You need to make sure your connection is as fast and stable as possible. You may find that using an ethernet cable and turning WiFi off on the puck gives you a more stable connection.
