this makes it sound like you haven't changed channel from BBC 1 for weeks 😆
sorry it just made me laugh.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream
When you watch Live TV it pause of a 5 seconds and than plays again, it acting like the buffering has caurt up with the video, is this the probem, it only happens on Live TV, I have to press the play buttion to pause it or ff it so it stops doing it.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream
Seems that it doesn't matter whether it's live or not. It's a well known Sky Stream problem but despite many promises they haven't sorted it yet, relying on customers to fiddle with tv settings. Very unsatisfactory. This works for me but I shouldn't have to do it.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream
@Rich5707 wrote:See people still have an issue with this is unreal. But last week I solved the issue I'm having with the lip sync issues
How I got it to work.
I have a Samsung Q series TV with the Samsung Q60 sound bar which both devices support ARC and eARC which both support dolby atoms sound, but I didn't set mine up this way.... Turned out I made the mistake and set mine up with optical wire which doesn't support dolby atmos (or dolby sound) , as soon as I used a HDMI 2.1 wire and connected them both into the correct HDMI eARC sockets on both sound bar and TV my lip sync issues have now gone.
I have waited a week. Watched multiple UHD shows on both sky sports and TNT sports (also standard shows which don't use dolby) and the issue is fully gone. The other issue is if your TV doesn't support dolby atmos but states dolby sound it still won't work. We have another Samsung TV slightly older but states dolby sound and not atmos and the issue with lip syncing still occurs.
During my dealings with sky to get this issue solved no one has stated optical wire doesn't work or TV has to be dolby atmos, in which I was told dolby sound was required.
I hope this helps others, for me it was a simple wire change.
Optical digital to soundbar only ever really works without lip sync issues if your going direct from the device outputting the audio. In this case that's the Sky Stream Puck not the TV it's connected to. Introducing the TV as the mediator between the Puck and the soundbar is what introduces the delay. Of course the big issue your quite rightly thinking is the fact that the Puck doesn't have an optical out (unlike some older Sky+ boxes). The advice though that I always give people with soundbars particularly is to connect the devices (sky, blu-ray etc) directly to the soundbar and not via the TV. Which again has become an issue as so many soundbars now seem to only have 1 hdmi input. That's when I plug a decent quality hdmi switch in to that 1 input and plug the devices in to the switch. A faff but still you're get better sync this way.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream
I made a error in my message, I mean...
When you watch live TV it pause for 5 seconds and then plays again the sound is still playing, its like its buffering the liveTV feed and running out where the buffer has catching up with LiveTV make it shudder.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream
Unfortunately this doesn't work, I don't use optical and the is only one socket out of the puck so this has to go straight to the TV and then I have eArc hdmi to the soundbar I have tried all the various sound settings and nothing works I have to reboot everything at least twice a day for a temporary fix. I have only been a few weeks with Sky, I never had these issues with Virgin and I wasn't aware of the issues until I moved....... I wish I hadn't now and I am stuck in a contract. I would reiterate I don't have these issues these issues with my Amazon streaming fire sticks, I am amazed that Sky don't follow this community and respond the number of people complaining of the same issue is not acceptable

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream
I've ended up cancelling and returning my sky stream, as have many others, due to this problem. Their reluctency to fix and address this issue is horrendous.

Re: Lip Sync issues - Sky Stream
@BC1956 If you just have the $ky puck then you'll be in a rolling contract which you can opt out of by giving a 31 day notice. Unlike other streaming services when you can cancell immediately sneaky $ky pick your pockets for another months payment. You can still cancel even in contract if $ky is failing to fulfill their side of the contract by giving you a watchable and listenable product, which it obviously is not.
If you telephone $ky to complain they will just blame the problem on your TV or soundbar as they did with me.

You have an HDMI input on that Soundbar. Try plugging the Sky pucks hdmi cable in to the soundbar rather than in to the TV. Then select HDMI input on the soundbar and see if the audio sync is now better matched to the picture. The soundbar HDMI output will send the picture to the TV.
EDIT: Sorry my mistake, this soundbar doesn't have an HDMI input as I thought. Just the HDMI ARC Out to TV.
