Interesting 😀 could it be also an update to Sky stream... let's hope

Stream wouldn't be 'brighter' because that's a function of the television panel itself.
Personally I think Sky is unlikely to want to have different versions of the Stream puck out on loan: that's a significant logistics complication (and note that Q Mini boxes have never changed hardware specification in nearly nine years of use)

They still need to do a big update to remove all the ongoing issues though and make the puck to be able to cope with streaming e.g. freezing

Also agree with @TimmyBGood it's unlikely there would be another variant of the stream puck as these are loaned devices, any ongoing issues some users are experiencing is not a result of a defective device.
Many users, myself included don't encounter any issues, however there are existimng threads for those subjects rather than dragging it into another thread.

Quite possibly, but I think that will be through software and server-side changes rather than a puck hardware revision.
This forum will always give a hugely distorted picture of Stream reliability: only Sky themselves knows the actual number of users with the issues you refer to, and while ideally 100% of customers should be happy, as a business they can simply decide a lower percentage is something they are prepared to live with as an overhead for support and ultimately a cause of subscription churn.

@Super+Anthony While the issues you describe are limited to minority ISPs ... Sky are unlikely to expend limited resources on addressing those issues😟

@Super+Anthony who is your ISP and what router are you using ?

Am bored of saying the same thing. Until Sky improve the infrastructure of the puck, we won't get anywhere. The issues lie simply with Sky to sort and not the ISP. I am with a superior one and my router etc has all been tested several times (I even have the top end router from my ISP). It's nothing on my end and it's the responsibility of Sky and to do more with the puck
I also repeat if it was my ISP, I would have issues with my other gadgets. They all work fine along with my WiFi. The issue is with the puck and that it's not up to speed with streaming and needs advancing.
We won't get anywhere until Sky admit this and stop pointing the blame on the customers ISP and accept responsibility
I will say again that stream is an improvement to Q but needs updating with the puck
@Exiled-in-HH Its not minoirity ISP's and in fact there are others who have Sky Broadband and are having same issues

Not the same issues as minority ISPs😉

There are plenty of people suffering with freezing issues unfortunately. Really hoping Sky will sort it all out. They cant expect people to move to Stream until they sort out the issues.

@Super+Anthony @Just because you don't have issues with other devices doesn't mean to say there isn't an issue with you isp/router and sky stream. I suspect it's your router

Same issues, but not necessarily the same cause.

Nothing wrong with my router @Jason+Golding I have had it checked several times by the ISP. If there was, I would have issues with my laptop and mobiles etc. I dont. Issue is with Sky.
Its for Sky to sort and admit the issue and do more than what they are doing. Puck is not up to scratch and cant cope with the streaming speeds at this time.
Am off now. Night all. Happy New Year and lets hope 2025 bring out a better Puck please please please

You trust them when they say your connection is fine & tested but you don't trust Sky when they say your issues aren't Stream related, despite you being on the phone to them on what seems like a frequent basis?
To confirm, I'm not saying that the issues that you repeatedly post about are not Sky's issues to sort. If it were me, I'd be more open to them being a combination of Sky and ISP. Let's hope 2025 gets all your issues sorted (Sky, ISP or otherwise) 👍🏻
