I fairly regularly use spotify on the Sky Q box and today its gone. When using the speech search function I get the message " To use this service, you need to upgrade your service"

What has changed?

It is Q30 specific, older builds are not affected, so the impact is limited currently.

Sky are looking at it and we will share an update as soon as they can provide one.

I'll mark this reply as an answer for now to make it easier for others who get Q30 and have the same issue to see that this is in hand.

@zspwn Might have the answer, can you confirm what software version you are on please?

I am on Q300.000.0600L

You will find it from the Home Screen by selecting Settings > System Info > Software Version

OK, thanks for this, Sky are looking at it and I will get you an update when I can.

Needless to say, this looks like a bug that needs to be squished rather than Spotify being removed from the platform.

Spotify app missing from sky q

I regularly used Spotify via Sky Q, however I went on yesterday and my Spotify app is no longer on the list. Have Sky cut connections with Spotify? I have tried searching every variation of the question online and can't find anything but guides telling me how to find it, but it's not there

I have also refreshed apps, power cycled sky q box, reset network. I'm at a loss to why the app is no longer on sky q box. Any help would be great please

See the post before yours.  Sky are investigating - it may not come back soon if it requires a new version of the software.

In the meantime you can cast audio from your phone to the sky box

Spotify is still working for me on Q280.000.08.00, so it must be a bug in the new Q30 software which hasn't arrived on my box yet. I hadn't seen any reports of a new software update until this topic.

Hopefully it's something they can tweak without a software rollout...

Hi both,

We're aware of an issue affecting Sky Staff accounts with V2 boxes on the recent update that is being investigated.

This appears to be resolved for me with the app back on the rail and voice launching it correctly.
