Sky Q

So third night without Sky Q. Am I the only person still not getting connected?

Re: Sky q switches off - 15/05

Happened to me again tonight too when I was watching a movie on the BBC iPlayer app through my Sky Q box.

The iPlayer app likes doing that, in my experience.

Dear Sky,

Thank you for completely ruining my weekend. A planned night with friends over to watch the PGA Championship and Eurovision was ruined by your system's repeated technical failures. We had to cancel everything because no TV service was possible through my Sky Q mini box. I pay through the nose for Sky as it is, this is completely unacceptable, and constitutes a clear failure by Sky to adhere to your contractual obligations. I await suitable compensation, and not just another text saying you're sorry and that the problem is fixed. To receive that text while the problem was actually getting worse was a disgrace. My Sky contract expires later this summer, I will be looking up alternatives

I'm afraid you aren't addressing Sky. The Sky Community is a customer led discussion forum where Sky customers are available to help other customers.

Have you called Sky, told them you still have an issue, and asked if they are willing to add a credit onto your account?

Have you carried out the steps outlined in the post marked as the answer?

If your main Q box is working, then it's not the same problem. That stopped all boxes from working. Did you try a reboot and a reactivate on the mini?

Re: Sky q switches off - 15/05

Had this issue with ours.

just gone in to look at software version and it's on Q300.000.06.00L

hit the software  update button and it appears it is updating according to the screen.

maybe they now have a fix?

Re: Sky q switches off - 15/05

I have rebooted a number iof times  over the last 3 days and also done a software update and checked my internet connections and links to miniboxes. The system works OK for a while but then goes down again (technical fault) and many of my recordings fail or are only part recorded. Sky have definitely not sorted the problem.

I updated the software yesterday and the problems have re-occurred this morning, after a couple of hours

@Tina1961

It will almost certainly be for the same software version as you had.

Re: Sky q switches off - 15/05

Does this mean that Sky (or someone else) can remotely turn off our Sky Q boxes whenever they want to?  Very worrying if true.

If you don't pay then your services are restricted, yes.
