Be aware the original 1TB (non-UHD) Sky Q box only allows one mini to be in use. To check if you have the non UHD 1TB box check in:-
Home - Settings - System Info - Hardware Version
If it shows as 32Cxxx then you have a non UHD 1TB that only supports 1 active mini box.
All 2TBs and the UHD/HDR 1TB permit two mini boxes. Each mini box which is loaned to you may be subject to a one off upfront charge but you only need one Sky Q monthly Multiscreen subscription.

@Irene721 what Sky Q main box do you have is it a 1TB that cannot receive UHD as the original 1TB boxes although you can have upto 4 mini boxes loaned from Sky you can only view on 1 at a time.
You would need to upgrade to a newer 1 TB box or any 2 TB box will allow you to view 2 mini boxes at the same time

also it's not "purchase", just bear that in mind, you have to give them back when your contract is up.
You can use them 1 at a time and that's a rare but valid use pattern for some people, that's why they let you add one even if your Q box version can't support them simultaneously.

Call Sky and explain the problem. They should upgrade you. Don't forget to keep your viewing card and you will of course lose your recordings.
