@Irene721

You don't purchase mini boxes. They are loaned to you by Sky. Did you obtain this box from Sky?

Be aware the original 1TB (non-UHD) Sky Q box only allows one mini to be in use. To check if you have the non UHD 1TB box check in:-
Home - Settings - System Info - Hardware Version
If it shows as 32Cxxx then you have a non UHD 1TB that only supports 1 active mini box.

All 2TBs and the UHD/HDR 1TB permit two mini boxes. Each mini box which is loaned to you may be subject to a one off upfront charge but you only need one Sky Q monthly Multiscreen subscription.

@Irene721 what Sky Q main box do you have is it a 1TB that cannot receive UHD as the original 1TB boxes although you can have upto 4 mini boxes loaned from Sky you can only view on 1 at a time.

You would need to upgrade to a newer 1 TB box or any 2 TB box will allow you to view 2 mini boxes at the same time

I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Re: Sky Q mini

If that is they case why do you have the option to purchase more at £50 a time. My hardware version say 32D00E

I think that's a mini version, you need the Q version.

also it's not "purchase", just bear that in mind, you have to give them back when your contract is up.

You can use them 1 at a time and that's a rare but valid use pattern for some people, that's why they let you add one even if your Q box version can't support them simultaneously.

When I say Q, I mean the main box. What version is that?

@Irene721  It's not a purchase option but a loan option

@Irene721

Then you have a non UHD 1TB that only supports 1 active mini box.

Call Sky and explain the problem. They should upgrade you. Don't forget to keep your viewing card and you will of course lose your recordings.
