I've moved your post into a thread discussing this. Some are having similar issues on Sky+. The common denominator seems to be having TalkTalk broadband.

Have you an eero router?

if so go to network controls then turn advanced security off

You may have to go into your routers settings to disable security

Yes I'm on talk talk 

the router was blocking access to skys domain in the security option hence why the no broadband message appeared on the attempted download

Sky's domain specifically? Why would it do that? Are you saying that's a default behaviour on these eero routers?
