Spent ages last night trying all the reboots. Internet fine. Gave up in the end. 'Good' to read it wasnt just me and yes I have talktalk!

After reading through the Sky+ post highlighted by @Daniel0210, I updated my TalkTalk eero router DNS from the default settings to 1.0.0.1. All good now, downloads working as they should.

I have the same problem with downloads on Sky Q. Talk Talk is my broadband provider. I changed the DNS on Sky Q from 79.79.79.79 to 1.0.0.1 and it now works

Same here, I'm on TalkTalk and had no ability to download, found a doc somewhere suggesting dns setting change, tried it on sky q box manually, that worked. Then as a more permanent fix I changed my router settings to 8.8.8.8 primary (google dns) and the normal primary TalkTalk dns configured as secondary (79.79.79.79). I suspect it's going to be one of those "internet" peer to peer issues that'll eventually get sorted but for now this worked.

Sky catch up tv and sky on demand will not download yet Netflix. & paramount downloads work

Yet Netflix & Patamount download programs and work correctly. Any ideas?

Hi, it seems there is an issue.  There is a longer thread on the Sky + tab.   many people are having the same issue on both Sky Q and Sky +.

Yes. Completely different services, different servers, different addresses.

 

sounds like TalkTalk's dns at 79.79.79.79 hasn't received an update about some sky service having changed address, for some reason. These things are supposed to propogate across all DNS servers and clearly Cloudflare's at 1.0.0.1 and Google's at 8.8.8.8 do know about the updates as those seem to be working.

I have pushed back on Sky Technical phone support just now. They told me they would have to send out an engineer following my orginal call about 2 hours ago.  I just told them that after I just read this disscussion board this morning that my conclusion is since yesterday afternoon  the 23rd September  alot of complants  posted were about downloading Sky content appeared. I told them are you sure this common recent fault does come from your end rather than indivadual Sky Q customers. He kept me waiting for a minute and came back to me and said that the fault is actually with them and it will resolved in the next 48 hours. Please share this post.

Many thanks for your response which has cured my issue!

 

Yes I am on TalkTalk (for over 20 years), and never had an issue. Then yesterday downloads from Sky failed (but streaming Netflix for the Sky Q box app continues to work).

 

Following the guidance I changed (on the Sky Q network setup advanced menu) the DNS from 79.79.79.79 to 1.0.0.1.  Downloads now work.

Unable to download Flipping Bangers series 2 - on Q

I am unable to download Series 2 of Flipping Bangers on U & Yesterday

When I try - I am greeted with  "Failed to Download to Sky Box".

I watched Series 1 without any issues

I have rebooted the box - no effect

No but have the same problem in east sussex.

Tried all normal things no good. Spoke with sky they said there is an issue.

Please just put it right
