A chat invite was sent on Wednesday but you either didn't see it or didn't participate fully.
I’ve re-escalated your post to Sky and the Messaging Team may get in touch with you later.
Look out for a blue/red speech bubble at the bottom of your forum page. Once that appears you have 48 hours to click on it and join the private chat or it will close automatically. If you fail to respond to each chat reply within 48 hours the chat will again close down automatically even if your issue hasn’t been resolved. Replies from Sky are not instant so you’ll need to regularly check the chat thread.

I am experiencing exactly this every day. Between 2am and 6am the mini box either wants to reconnect to Wi-Fi (and constantly fails) tries to update software (and fails) or reactivates the connection to the main box and fails. Every day I have to unplug from the mains, wait, switch back on and try a software update to get the mini box to reconnect. Sometimes it can take half an hour to have it working. I received a new main box yesterday because of hard drive problems and hoped that would rectify the problem, but this morning it's happened again, which took 15 minutes to get connected this time. I'd love to get this fixed!

Oh, and I often get a black screen and no sound. Happens when I come out of any menu and randomly when watching a program.

I have been having the same problem, and have rebooted all parts of the system to try and get it all functioning properly but to no avail

The only way I have found to improve things is to have both boxes setup so they don't switch off, and leave them on 24/7!! Super annoying, isn't it?!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI gave up on wifi and use powerline adapters for my minis. Pretty muxh never had a problem since. My Q also used to drop off the internet every night during its refresh cycle and I connected that via a wifi mesh node so it piggybacks the wifi of that instead.
basically I think the Q's wifi is junk.

Hello i also have this problem and have tried replacing the main sky box to no avail.

Annoying, isn't it? The only way I have found to not have this problem is to change the settings so that the mini box is on 24/7 and I need to remember to switch it off. Since I've done this I've had no issues but the I'm sure it's not great for the box to be on as much as it is!

Every single day I need to reboot and reconnect. Sooooo frustrating. Wondering if I need a new mini box or main sky q box. I've very close to canceling and switching providers. The live chat is no help at all!!!
