Hi all,
I have bought a projector to play my sky tv through and it isn't working, I have connected the projector through HDMI straight into my Sky Q box, Sky tv came on my screen for about a minute then went off, it's as if the sky signal has been blocked, I have played my firestick through the same HDMI and everything runs smoothly? Help please?

Hi @Glenn21
You need to check that your Projector HDMI ports can take HDCP 2.2
Also try the two different 1080 resolutions in the Q box settings.

So I spoke with someoine from Sky thos morning (unfortunatly he found it amussing) he said he had reset some settings remotely but I'm not convinced this would have solved the problem, could this have worked then do you think?

It absolutely would not have solved the problem. At most he would have refreshed your viewing card which would have zero effect on HDCP.

Having looked online it states that your projecter is HDMI 1.4a compatible so it should be OK for HD output from a Q box. Check the video output settings on the Q box are set to 1080i.

Hi @Glenn21
All Q 2TB boxes and also the 1 TB UHD boxes require HDCP 2.2
Only the original 1 TB box non UHD box has HDCP 1.2
This cannot be changed remotely by Sky and is fixed for anti copy protection

I see what your saying but originally it came on for about a minute then went off, and when I restart sky it comes on then goes off again, if it wasnt compatible would it not come on at all? Thanks for your help.

Can you test it with a shorter cable? Even for HD a 8m stretch may just be too long for a passive cable.
