I have had Sky Q for 4 years now and not happy with the Sky Q Mesh.
I have requested Full Fibre Sky Ultra for many years but still nothing available despite Virgin Media and others being available in this area at much faster speeds.
I am considering getting an additional broadband to try and improve the Sky Q Mesh.
I have a 2TB Main box and four Mini Boxes including some big screen TVs.
My question is how do I set up a reliable Mesh using Sky Q Boxes and a third party broadband?
Sky Q boxes setup a mesh between them and do not use a third party wifi.
Will I still need to have the Sky Router turned on and feed it with the third party wifi somehow?
Surely the mesh uses the sky router as a starting point and connects between that, the 2TB box and the Mini Boxes.
I have tried this setup before and failed so just trying to make sure it works before committing to a new Broadband set-up to improve the Sky Q. Thanks Mike

Turn all WiFi off on all Q boxes. Then connect all boxes to 3rd party Mesh via Ethernet.

Thanks, how do you turn off wifi to pickup the matrix the sky boxes create?
How do you turn off wifi on mini boxes?
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your replys. I am a novice at Sky Q Installer Menus. I have the new wifi installed now and it seems strong throughout the house. I will take your suggestions and report back on progress if you are interested. Thanks Mike

Ok I see the Installer Menu. It has 3 options under Network. Presume the 1st two are where you turn off the wifi for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi channels. If I do this and disconnect from the sky wifi where do I get the option to connect to another wifi and presumably add the new wifi? Presume I will have to add a password or use the WPS button? Thanks for the assistance.
