This is an intermittent but common problem across a number of apps on Q at the moment.
Sky is aware and we await a fix. See this thread.

@Jbourke in the meantime, if you've got a smart TV, you can use the Amazon Prime app on that (not through Sky)

The ANSWER to this the pixelating thread is basically just wait for sky to fix it with a software update 😖
There was a software update of 14th August, version Q270.000.10.02L (5u193hm), but this didn't resolve the issue.
It can affect live tv (through sky) and mini box viewing as well as streaming apps.

Correct.
Because not everyone is seeing the issue, it comes and goes for others and the apps it effects is also not consistent, which I suspect makes any root cause difficult to pin down.

Maybe because there was nothing in it to try and fix it, but was an update for something else?
When Sky deliver an update and it has a specific fix for a problem, they tend to tell people that is what is happening.

Can it?
I haven't experienced any issues. How do you know that the same problem affects live TV as well as apps?

Yes it can but not as bad as streaming apps. I've seen it and it's being seen by the other 3 adults and 2 kids in my household. We have 3 mini boxes and they can freeze or show a black picture as well as pixelisation.
