Well done on your perseverance. 

 

Although I'm not sure congratulating you on doing what employees of two of the biggest media companies - Comcast and Paramount - in the world should be doing is a cause of celebration!

I'm glad that sky are aware this is an issue now. Hopefully no one else will end up having their cinema cancelled to try and fix it, especiallyif paramount are getting involved. Luckily my contact ends in August, so its not going to affect me that much, but I imagine if you're earlier into your contract it would be a lot more annoying to deal with.

Another possibility - could those of us having issues have more than one email address on Sky's systems? See this posting on a different forum.

I do have different emails as my marketing emails re sport, cinema, VIP, etc., come to a different email than my sky.com email which my Sky iD and log ins use. I can't see anywhere where that other email shows up online and can be changed. I just tried clicking on an email re a Sky Store "purchase" on the other email, but I logged into Sky Store with my sky.com email and saw it there.

 

I can't tomorrow, but what is the best way to contact Sky and get someone knowledgable who could perhaps help with this and see if it solves the issue?

I'm fairly certain that there will only be one email address for my account with sky and its the same one registered to paramount+

Following a search on here I found a place where my other email was used, and it was on the SkyQ box under My Sky and the Manage My Account row and My Details on that. I've changed that email to tie in with the others. Quite why that should be completely different from the My Details online is another question. No change in getting the Paramount+ upgrade as you suspected.

I have been having this issue too and finally found a solution. It always failed after entering a new payment method, so the steps that worked for me were:

- Log onto the MySky app, and go to the Bills and Payments section

- In the marketplace area, choose change payment method

- Enter a new card here

- Once this was done, head back to Sky Q and try the upgrade as before

- Instead of asking for a payment card, I just had to enter my security code and the upgrade went through

 

Hopefully this solves it for the rest of you too!

Bingo!!!

 

I actually entered a card on the Sky Marketplace website, where previously I had none, at the weekend whilst trying to get this working.

 

Having gone through the process you mentioned [I used the main Sky website] I had no card entered again, so entered a card there.

 

As you say you are then not asked for a card on the screen, just the 3 digit code on the back of your card.

 

I now have the premium version of Paramount+ through Sky, confirmed by looking at the settings on the app, and whilst typing this email confirmation.

 

Thanks for finding out what Sky appear not to have managed.

I reported to the sky engineer who came to do our broadband he said so many people are complaining he has logged it as another complaint

Fantastic, this worked for me also, considering how simple this is to correct I'm surprised that neither Sky nor Paramount have the solution ready to hand, I will provide my feedback to both...
