Lightning Strike

Morning

We had a lightning strike last night and now have no sky. Trying to a hold of sky has been exhausting so thought i would try on here.  Any advice on how we get this issue fixed.

Before you call Sky have you tried another electrical device in the plug socket? If you need to call Sky, if you already have a Sky Mobile or a Sky Talk landline call free by just dialling 150, otherwise you can use:
https://www.sky.com/help/home
UK: Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number.
ROI: change the flag in the bottom right corner of the link to the ROI flag then scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0818 number.
(The forum doesn’t allow us to type the numbers in full).

Be aware that as with most large companies nowadays the start will be automated.

Sky will point you towards the forums as a first option but if your box has been damaged by the strike you will need to persevere in calling Sky now that they are open.

It could be your Sky Q box is not powering on as it has become stuck in a standby state

Maybe worth trying the Sky Q recovery procedure from power off as described in step 3 here;

Re: Lightning Strike

A month for an engineer to arrive, what a joke!!!!! Definitely won't be continuing with Sky now.

When it's fixed they should apply a credit from the date you reported the issue.  (But you'll probably have to phone to get it)
