Probably this year however you may get more information asking ITV.
I think it is a case of ITV's marketing being over optimistic, there are many devices that will never get ITV X, including most TVs over 6 years old.

Looks like it won't even be arriving on some 2021 Sony TVs!

I think you may be confusing that with the removal of ITV Hub

I have a Sony, LG and Samsung tv and the app is still there and working fine @nickdevil23 so you hear incorrectly.

Find out moreAlthough not directy related to Sky, the itv hub app on my 2016 TV has upgraded the icon to ITV X, however, when I select it it says use another device to acces this service. It looks like people with older smart TVs and freeview play will no longer be able to use the feature.
Personally, I have signed up on an Apple TV 4k for ITV X premium which includes Britbox and ad free ITV.

@rscott , my 6 year-old Loewe has it despite the original company going bust and a new one with the same name forming. Quality customer service.

If you do a software update the app will disappear as Sony n LG reps have told me its removed as there are issue with live option

Hi @nickdevil23 I have two Sony TVs which have recently completed a software update. Not only is ITVX working perfectly (I don't know about Live as I am not interested as I have live TV) they have at last updated the logo to ITVX (previously the old ITV Hub logo but ITVX in the background). If you don't believe a word of what a "rep" says to you, then you can't go wrong.

Maybe it is different depending on your TV model and when they were produced whether the update works properly or not.

Many older TVs cannot get the ITV x app and for anyone with this issue, an Amazon Fire Stick works, a recently purchased Apple TV box (older ones can't get the app) or some games consoles will allow you access.
ITVx have confirmed that Sky Q customers will get this App in the near future (in fact Sky staff already have it, so it can't be far off).
