I've only had my Sky Q for a couple of months and the remote has cracked completely around the whole body
Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi @DonZ157
Sounds like mechanical damage.
Check the following link and it will lead to a form for a replacement remote.

In the meantime if you have an Apple device with Sky Go you can set up a virtual remote to control your Q boxes.
See following link.

@DonZ157 - yes, I have had exactly the same issue. I got SkyQ a few months back, and slowly but surely a load of hairline cracks are appearing all round the body of the remote, and pieces are falling off.

I have exactly the same issue, upgraded to Sky Q a couple of months ago and the remote back is disintegrating. Several hairline cracks and now 4 bits have dropped out.

If you follow this link it’ll send you to a form to request a replacement (apparently this is not available to customers in the ROI).

It may be quicker to purchase a new remote from a retailer or larger supermarket. If you do that as well as the above you’ll have a spare.

this is the first time I've used this community - bear with me please
In answer to your tv remote - yes I have after only a couple of months.. Sky replaced the original remote and again, after only a couple of months this one has also started to crack on the sides. I have used super glue as a short term fix but will need this one replaced soon

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreMy original remotes (main box and mini box) are still in excellent condition since November 2019 and no signs of cracking. They shouldn't need replacing at this frequency.

Neither of the remotes have been abused. We place them on a small coffee table when not in use and do not have children that could mis- handle them.
I have followed your link on a previous suggestion and have requested a replacement - thank you

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreNo. I've still got remotes from 2016 and they look new. Unless they've cheaped out on the materials recently.

My replacement that I got in July is fine so far. I suspect there was a sub standard batch.
