Perfectly normal, I have two sky remotes and they emit a random crackle when not being used. It probably depends how good your hearing is, some people may not hear it.

With 3 remotes in total for main box and mini box since 2019 it definitely isn't normal. No noise at all and my hearing is fine.

This might explain the noises I have heard on occasions, sounds like the cracking noise plastic makes when it's contracting or expanding due to temerature change.
Im so glad this isnt just me - i thought i was hearing things!
I got 2 new mini boxes a few months ago and both remotes crackle and pop every now and then. Surely it isnt normal, ive never heard these noises coming from any other remotes or my previous sky Q remotes...anyone know why they do this?!
I would describe it as someone quietly rustling a crisp packet. Some people say they can't hear it and they claim to have excellent hearing, I think their hearing is not as good as they claim!....or is it we are unlucky and have dodgy remotes? despite replacing them.
