Clicking sound from sky Q remote

Hi

Does anyone know if this is normal or if I may have an issue with my remote?

My Q remote makes clicking sounds when it is not being used. I wonder if I should be concerned. Should I contact sky?

I will check but the remote was brand new only had it a couple of months, batteries in our old remote lasted a good year. Thanks for reply.

Perfectly normal, I have two sky remotes and they emit a random crackle when not being used. It probably depends how good your hearing is, some people may not hear it.

Yes I guess it depends on how good your hearing is, I don't hear it as I'm deaf in one ear, but it irritates my husband.!

With 3 remotes in total for main box and mini box since 2019 it definitely isn't normal. No noise at all and my hearing is fine.

I guess I'm just unlucky then, but the crackling doesn't bother me. I only hear it occasionally when the TV is off and it's quiet.

This might explain the noises I have heard on occasions, sounds like the cracking noise plastic makes when it's contracting or expanding due to temerature change.

Mine definitely makes a cracking noise...I can hear it on a night when I turn the tv off...took me ages to find what it was!!

Im so glad this isnt just me - i thought i was hearing things!

I got 2 new mini boxes a few months ago and both remotes crackle and pop every now and then. Surely it isnt normal, ive never heard these noises coming from any other remotes or my previous sky Q remotes...anyone know why they do this?!

That is so interesting - I've only started hearing this since I got hearing aids. Glad it's not just me!

I would describe it as someone quietly rustling a crisp packet. Some people say they can't hear it and they claim to have excellent hearing, I think their hearing is not as good as they claim!....or is it we are unlucky and have dodgy remotes? despite replacing them.
