Broadband connectivity

Hi, recently changed from Sky broadband to an infinitely faster Virgin fibre broadband. Every other device in the house works perfectly well but I have an issue with my Sky Q box. Every day (must be on power down it loses connection with the broadband, and forgets the password so I have to re-enter a 16 digit password every day.  There must be an easy way of fixing this. Sky helpline asked me to upgrade Sky Q and seemed confident this would solve the problem, but it didn't.  Any ideas please ?

Re: Broadband connectivity

You may want to change your standby settings:

Press Home on your Sky Q remote select Settings > Setup > Preferences > Standby mode, and select the setting you want.   I have all my boxes set to NONE.  I had the same issue as you at the beginning of my SKY Q days and this sorted it out as soon as I'd set all boxes to the same.

Good luck.

Re: Broadband connectivity

Thanks, I'll try that. Will take a couple of days before I know it's worked so I'll report back after the weekend, have a good Xmas everyone.

Re: Broadband connectivity

Hi, my broadband signal keeps dropping out on SkyQ. My box informs me i have no broadband signal, but when I look at all my other devices (phones, laptop, ipad) the broadband signal is there, and very strong (over 200Mbps with Virgin fibre)

The signal drops out for hours on end, then, next morning it's reconnected itself. I fear that if I call Sky I will find myself in the middle, between Sky and Virgin, both blaming each other. Anyone else had experience of this ?

You've resurrected a 2 year old thread so you may not get an answer from previous posters.

Can you not simply try it? I had VM BB for 18 months with the energy saving mode set to NONE (not for this reason) and never had an issue with the connection.
