I thought I would start a new thread on this issue.
I live in a block of flats, and I have had repeated issues for some months, when viewing television through my Sky Q box. Mainly on BBC 1 London HD channel 101 am getting every so often break up of pictures which last just for a few seconds and then picture goes back to normal.
Engineers came a few days ago and decided to replace the Sky communal dish and LNB as it was all rather old. Sadly the issue is still happening. Very few residents have Sky tv so I do not know if they are also having this issue.
I am puzzled as to why it seems to be mainly happening on just the one channel.

How is BBC Four ?
BBC1 London HD shares the same transponder with BBC Four, CBeebies, BBC 2 Wales, BBC 1 East & BBC1 East Middlands, so if that transponder is weak then BBC Four is the only channel you are likely to watch that might also have issues

Thanks for that reply. I never watch BBC 4 but I shall now check it over the weekend.
The break up of picture, only seems to happen intermittently and lasts for a few seconds, so I suppose I could live with this.as long as it does not get any worse. Could the problem be solved by getting the engineers back and slightly moving the position of the communal Sky dish..
My Sky Q box is just over three years old which I do not think is that old, and I do not want to replace it because I still have a number of recordings I want to watch and it is likely it will not solve the problem.
I just wonder whether anyone else has had similar issues with channel 101.

With communal Systems it might be the dish alignement but it could also be part of the chain in the distribtion system
Typically Communal systems receive each of the 4 bands (Hoizontal/Vertical polarisations High/Low Band) from a Universal LNB and then supply them as required to the rest of the distribution system - SKY Q often uses an adapter to convert to SKY Q SCR feed unless the main distribution system is also SCR capable

We are also uaving broken picture issues on BBC 1 only via Sky.
the call centre were unhelpful saying their engineers cant help and i must get a communal dish engineer to sort the sugnal.
im not convinced as all other channels are ok.

If you’re on a communal dish you may initially need to liaise with your landlord or building management company who are responsible for arranging repairs.

Yes, that's not an easy task and I'm reading that BBC have made changes to their signal.
we only have issues with broken picture in BBC so I'm wondering whether moving he dish would cause more harm than good?

I don't think anyone else has joined yet.

Ok, will do.
thanks 🙏🏻

I started this thread.
I am also continuing to get break up of pictures just on BBC channels. All other channels the picture is good.
I live in a developmeht, so we have a communal Sky dish. I have a Sky Q box
The Sky communal dish was replaced about a year ago, but the problem remains. I have no idea whether other residents have Sky television but I think I am the only one in my block.

I lost my entire Sky TV picture a few minutes ago.
Usually 90 Signal Quality and 80 Signal Strengh. Both went to 0.
Very strong gusts of wind which I assume is the cause. Has anyone else had this problem today.
Anyone else in normal weather experiencing issues with BBC channels.

Normal English weather. No gales, just the usual rain, rain, rain... BBC broken picture, all the time. Pixilated.
all other channels seem ok so far.

Yes, shared dish here too.
It seems BBC have been changing their signal and stopping a service on a certain frequency. I'm wondering if that is affecting us.
Sky didn't mention this at all when I called! They seem oblivious.
I've found a few bits on Google.
