Or just give in a go for something which works. There's only so much you can do before you realise it's not up to scratch

Re: Doorbell battery

I can't see it getting better. I didn't want to be defeatist but I gave up.  All equipment is now boxed away.  No idea where this equipment was designed, but it's nowhere near the standard we expect since the first SKY HD STB's were released.

It comes from a company called Neos which originally made similar hardware for Aviva.

Sky has no history in design or manufacture of such things.

Re: Doorbell

This doorbell is a nightmare, battery life only lasts about 5 days had on charge for 24hrs still no difference seems to never charge fully, charged with correct lead in box, everything I take it of for a charge need to reconfigure it to get it to work,to much of a delay with alarm, has a mind of its own, must be better camera door bells out there

Re: Doorbell

My expectations were really low when I got Sky Protect recently due to reading others experience on here,

but my own has been different fortunately.

I've had the system almost 2 weeks and the Doorbell still has 54% battery remaining. I put it on charge overnight when I first got it and it has 4 bar signal strength. Alerts have been fairly instant too.

Sometimes the app reports some of the sensors are offline but when I next take a look they are back on without me doing anything.

So up to now I've been impressed, especially the Doorbell which has excellent picture and sound.

The distance between the doorbell and the ringer is only about 2 meters though, with the ringer sat alongside my router.

Re: Doorbell

Has anyone had a solution to the battery issue,  its absolutely awful,  I have not even got round to installing the other parts of the kit as I don't want to spend all my time charging batteries,

I agree the battery charge is 5 to 6 days absolutely rubbish no wonder it's free allegedly

Re: Doorbell

The chime has to have a good wifi signal, and the doorbell has to be very close to the chine. My setup was in the garage, far from the router, so a very weak signal, and huge battery drain.

I solved the battery drain by buying a mesh network, plugged the chime into one of the pods in the garage, and had the doorbell close to the chime. I now get many months of battery from the doorbell.

Re: Doorbell

I have sky protect since beginning of march 2024 charged doorbell on installation  and 3 more times since so full charge lasts on average 2/3 months. Amount of charge left shows in my app on my mobile so when low  i recharge overnight . No problem well pleased with it.
