Sky Mobile Swap Scammed
My sky mobile phone suddenly stopped working and wouldnt turn on on it is two years old .I contacted sky mobile number for help with sendng for repair.
The Sky advisor informed me that I could take out a new 3 year contract with a new phone and swap the one that wont turm on and I would get the outstanding years balance left to pay back into my account
even though it wouldnt start.
Hwever after signingbup forbthis swap and new deal I sent my phone forva swap and recieved an email from Sky stating that I wouldnt get anything for the returned phone as it wouldnt start, it is otherwise in as new condition.
I tried phoning Sky and explained that I had been informed that I would get the full swap cost of tjevoutstanding balance even though it wont start,I was eventually told a manager would phone me back but that never happened.
I have sent complaints but have had no reply and had to reject the swap so I can get my old phone back to get ut reapired privately but I will still have to pay Sky the outstanding balance for a year.I am still waiting for the phone to be returned
Avoid this swap scam it appears to be a sales ploy to get you to take out a new three year contract then Sky don't fulfill the agreed swap.
I will update if I ever hear back from Sky or there are any developments.

Re: Sky Mobile Swap Scammed
@CoilnWa what the agent told you was totally incorrect
but what sky has done in rejecting the trade in is correct
the fact it won't turn on would warrant the trade in invalid or at best reduce the value you would receive

Re: Sky Mobile Swap Scammed
@CoilnWa It's not a scam, you sent a defective phone to Sky so of course there is no value in it, it needs to be both working and free of defects to have any kind of value.
However you have been misinformed by the CSA.

Re: Sky Mobile Swap Scammed
I was acting on the advice of the Sky advisor or wouldnt have agreed to the new deal., I did state that as calls are recorded the evidence would there that I have been sold a new contract on false information

@CoilnWa then you have grounds to complain
to make sure the complaint is officially registered I would submit it again following the instructions on the link below and including details of the call in question such as date and time etc
note sky has 8 weeks to respond under regulatory guidelines

Re: Sky Mobile Swap Scammed
Thanks for the information, I have submitted a complaint via that process but did not know that there was a regulatory eight weeks time frame, much appreciated.
