I had almost identical problem requesting the settings and nothing happening - and then phone struggling to connect to data at all when manually editing the APN...

There are other Pixels listed up to 6 then also 8 so for some reason not doing the 7.

I was just on with Google support. They seemed to be trying their best to provide support but said to contact the carrier. That its not to do with the phone.

Yeah I contacted Google and they also told me it was not down to them. It took sky Mobile so long to set up in Ireland you would think this should be a simple fix

Has anyone had any success getting 5g on a pixel? I've an 8pro and I can only get lte. Went from download of over 100mbps this morning on Vodafone to less than 20 with sky.

I have reached out to Sky Help Ireland on Twitter/X. The person there, Patrick seems to be taking on board what I have said. It has been escalated to the Mobile Network Team. I'll let you know how things go.

Thanks. I won't hold my breath as that's who the sales rep in Belfast said she was reporting it to and that I should hear something back from them within 2 days and that was a week ago

I just received this response fro Sky Help Ireland...

 

Hi. Thanks for your time and providing us with all the information to help us better understand your issue. We are still in communication with the phone manufacturers to get complete compatibility with their devices, which does in some cases need a software update from them. They like to make sure they're 100% happy before they will release software to enable the full features and functionality. We cannot currently offer a date of when this will be update but it will be completed. For the time being your device will need to connect to LTE instead of the 5G until this is updated by Google. We hope this will this will be updated and resolved for you soon and in the meantime you will be able to continue using the LTE with no issues.

Yes as expected they need a software release from Google, feels like a very high level response (maybe NDA'd). 

 

Not helpful in what you need, hard to know if that means next week or 6 months away. Given its Google related I would expect its closer to the latter tbh - still hard to understand why 5G isn't their default like every other manufacturer in the world.

Thanks to this thread I was able to get LTE working - leaving the MCC and MNC as default was key.

 

So I guess I wait for a software update to get 5G working now.  I am not too bothered as I am coming from Vodafone RED which was about to increase to 40 euros per month and was only 4G anyway.

Im using a Google Pixel 6 pro , Still no 5g. requested setting through the app and by phone. Nothing rceived. Manual input of APN settings. Only receiving LTE.  Hopefully SKY will sort this  sooner than later or will be cancelling.

I am using iPhone 11 and while network settings came through, I keep dropping internet despite having 3 bars and LTE showing. My wife's phone is same. It happens at various locations so not related to where I am. Only way to get internet back is restart phone. Been onto sky a who said they would escalate to networks team and I would hear back next day. That was a week ago and nothing. I will be phoning today and cancelling contract due to failure to provide service. €15pm is good, but only if it works.
