Re: Piggy bank data missing

As much as rolling data to not get stung with Sky stealing it back may work not sure I can be bothered, especially as can only roll in 5GB chunks.

Ive had enough of Sky and just cancelled my TV and broadband with them as a result of this change. Mobile will go also when I've run out of piggy bank data.

I'm saving a fortune by switching so thank Sky for kicking me into action to go research alternatives. The end of 25 ish years with them not that they're bothered.

@Babster

And then when you've rolled the 5GB to a sim, just carry out the process again and so on. This billing period I moved 15GB to each sim prior to going on holiday.

Piggy bank data

I had 30gb taken from my piggy bank as sky changed the period in which we could keep them from 3 to 1 years

I never got an email/letter/text saying this was going to change. When I called sky they said it was sent in an email regarding price changes which I never got as I only have sky mobile service. No other sky service.
my question is has anyone successfully got thier data back and even had a response from the complaints department?
thank you for reading.

@Piggy1

The emails/letters were sent out around April of last year as they were about the forthcoming price increases on Sky Mobile so it might have been easy to miss this.

@Piggy1

I received my email on 9 January 2024. Unfortunately due to the time since it was sent a lot of customers will have forgotten. Sky are under no obligation to reinstate the data and I'm not aware of any other customers successfully getting it back.

The mail was sent to all Sky mobile customers regardless of whether they have other services.

The wording was around 2/3 of the way down.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Re: Mobile data piggy bank lost

Very disappointed that piggy bank data has been taken away, it was a nice little bonus for being a sky customer, looking at the comments it looks like am not the only one to be surprised by this action, I'm sure you could have removed the data in stages which would have helped your customers remember the decision you took over twelve months ago instead of it coming out of the blue.

@Dis4
You may not be aware but you haven’t contacted Sky by posting on here. This is a customer ▶️ customer discussion forum where we try to help other customers.

It shouldn't have come as a surprise. Customers were made aware of this change in the April 2024 price change email / letter. The change didn't come into effect until summer 2025 which is probably why some customers had forgotten about it.

Data in your Piggybank used to last for 3 years. It's now 12 months. So now at each billing date any data over 12 months old is removed. Your online bill should show this transaction.

Every month, data that has been in your Piggybank for 13 months is removed. This has been happening for nearly a year. Prior to that, data that had been there for 37 months was removed. So hardly out of the blue.

There's a workaround posted immediately above your post.
